    Default Weight Watchers?

So I just signed up for Weight Watchers again tonight. I have done the online program but stopped when I wasn't dancing because I simply could not afford $17 bucks a month.

I was wondering if anyone else was on WW, what they think of it and if they found it difficult to keep up with updating the online point counter. That was a problem I had the last time.

Weight Watchers is an excellent weight losing and life changing program IMO and experience. I joined when I reached my max weight of 160 in August 2001. By January I was 133, by April I was 118 and by June which is when I started dancing I was 112. I have maintained loss 4 pounds more and maintained a weight of 108 since.

You will lose approxmiately 2 pounds weekly if you follow the program exactly. Your first week you may lose up to 4 pounds. You may plateau and need to add in exercise at some point. It's also a good idea to start exercise and pilates once you lose more than 10 pounds to prevent loose skin.

This was a lifestyle change for me. It taught be about food and what is healthy. You have to change your habits to keep the weight off otherwise once you stop the plan it will come back on rather quickly.

I did WW before and it worked pretty well for maintaining and losing weight. However, I stopped doing it and started eating crap food again. I'm just getting into the measuring and healthy choices again. I spent $200 at the grocery store today and was giggling the whole time.

How long have you been on the system? Do you still count points? are you using the online system or meetings?

I was just talking to my boyfriend about ww. I really wonder if it works & according to greenidlady1 it does!

I'm curious though, how much exercise did you do normally?

I just started yesterday and I'll confess to being completely lazy. I haven't done any yet.

But, I used to do 20-40 minutes a day when I was using WW before. Mostly because of the fact that for every 20 minutes of exercise you do you earn 1 point towards more food! It was worth it if I was hungry.

Psychologically speaking (it actually came up in my Psych 101 class) it's positive reinforcement. You get a present for good behavior like exercising. But at the same time, you can use "week points" too. You get a set number of points (I'm at 23) and then you have 35 week points to use whenever you want. You don't have to use them, or you could use a few each day, or you could use them all at once for a party or something. So you don't have to cheat.
