    Default La Mer

Has any one used Creme de la Mer? Does it work or is it just hype?

Yes, I use it. It's the most moisturizing face lotion out there.

I get really dry skin in the winter and this is the only thing that works. Other times of year I only use it on my eyes though because it is sooo heavy.

I also use it after facial laser treatments ect...it's very healing.

It's very expensive and if used daily can cause break outs. See if you can get a sample first before you buy because some people don't like it cuz it's so heavy.

I've used La Mer and I used to sell it. It is an excllent product if your concerns are dryness and irritaion. For wrinkle or preventative treatment, there are better products out there at price ponts much easier on the wallet.

It's an excellent daily moisturizer for people who have very dry skin, it's very healing for those who spend a lot of time outdoors (sun/wind burn), or for people who use more aggresive skincare treatments and need something comforting while healing .

Although it's very moisturizing it's not heavy... I'm an oily skin and I can use La Mer with very little to no breakout (especially if I use the lotion vs. the cream); this product absorbs beautifully into the skin if it's applied correctly. You have to take a small amount onto your fingertips, warm it up and spread it in your hands, and pat it onto the skin. If you try to take the product right out of the jar and massage it into the skin it will feel heavy and greasy. "Emulsifying" it on your hands and patting it onto the skin maximizes it's ability to penetrate and be absorbed.

since it is so expensive, maybe they will give you a sample at the counter to see how it works with your skin.

ahmeerah- if I remember correctly, thier big deal ingredient is a broth made of fermented sea kelp... other ingredients include apricot seed oil and mineral oil.

Sindi- ReVive is another line I sold and used... IMHO it's far superior to Creme De La Mer in terms of wrinkle, preventative, and anti age treatment. It is also an excellent line for acne prone skin. The Moisturizing Renewal Cream is thier original product. Great night time moisturizer for those who are looking for wrinkle treatment and/or breakout control. It has a 10% glycolic acid so it will give a tingling to mild burning sensation when you first start using it. Also, you want to only use it at night and use an SPF during the day. I would avoid using it with other products containing glycolic, alpha, beta, retinol, or salisylic acid. I also loved the Serum Protectif (to use under moisturizers day and night) and the oil free Sensitif Lotion for daytime moisture with sun protectant.

One thing I'd recommend for anyone considering La Mer, purchase only the original creme or lotion... The other products are not very impressive IMO, especially the eye balm and the oil free lotion.

I've never tried it, but I remember reading somewhere that JLo uses it all over her body. It wouldn't surprise me, but damn that stuff is expensive. I can't imagine just slathering it on, although I'd love to.

I have used this and actually have the large jar left. It makes my skin break out terribly. I'm wondering if I can save it until my skin gets drier as I get older.
