    Default gardisil

    the gardisil vaccine...
a couple months ago i got my first dose, i was fine. i got my second dose a week ago, it hurt so bad for days and it had a little bump around the area of injection that was bleeding a little bit ( i gues i scratched it), but i don't think its suppose to hurt still...

plus i just got a yeast infection and i wonder if it's related.

and all my skin feels dry and itchy and i punctured my knee on stage a couple days ago too.... help i'm feeling miserable!

There have been many reports of side effects from the vaccine - if you want to discuss it / find out more, I recomend joining this group (plenty of non-Aussies on there)

There is also the US vaccine reactions reporting system here

Edited to add some more related links.

I've had all 3 of mine and they hurt like hell and were sore for about a week afterwards. Come to think of it, the 2nd and 3rd ones might have hurt a little more... but I turned out fine

If it keeps hurting for more than a week I'd talk to your doctor again.

Thanks for that link Ms Qwerty. I was meaning to get the vaccine when it first came out but then I became unsure when I heard about all of the reported side effects. Got to read up on it...

My first one hurt like hell, and literally hurt for maybe 2 months. I even made a post about it somewhere. Hoever, my 2nd an d3rd hurt a little, but the pain was gone within 2 or 3 days.

I cant believe it is this painful. They want little girls to have this shot.

really? it's that painful? i had some soreness for an hour or two afterwards for all three shots and that was it. *shrugs* i guess some people experience pain levels differently.

I am pretty sure the pains of any cancer is painful enought! Yet having a 6th grader take this shot. When it dose not prevent all forms of cervical cancer. So early on in life is crazy.

Me too. It was a little more painful than, say, a flu shot, but there was no residual pain after a few hours. Everyone just reacts differently.

A week? Wow, that's a long time to be sore. My arm had a little pain for a day and was alright again.

One of the reasons that they give it so early is becuase if a little girl is molested early in life, she will be more prone to developing cervical cancer because of the immature vagina. There are some people on this forum who can attest to that.

Yes. That is true as well, maybe in another ten years it should be required (I mean, I am all for it, but even I am a little hesitant simply because it hasn't been out long), but I don't think it should be required for tweens right now.

Hmm, that is a thought to ponder as well.
Right now I think it should really be the choice of the parents, not manditory.

Oh lord don't scare me! I have an appointment on tuesday to discuss getting the shot even though I already have HPV. My allergist suggested I get it since there are so many different types of HPV so we will see.

I did not think much about that! But there are girls who are molested younger than six grade. Did they do a survey to dertermine the average age of molestation. Why is the shot so painful? Why cant they give the shot to boys. So it cant help them not give it to girls?

I dont mean to be sexes. I dont see why all the girls have to go thru the pain. The men do not suffer, they can transmit it!
