I got hired at the oasis in denver (yay!), but they have spinning poles. I've never used one before. Any tips on how to use them? also, anyone have any info on working at the oasis? types of guys, anything about the managers or girls?
thanks!

Yeah, it takes a lot less momentum to work a spinning pole. I started on a spinning pole but only worked there for a month, so I forgot how to use one. So when I went back to a club with a spinning pole I ended up with motion sickness afterwards because I'm used to throwing myself into spins to make them look good.
Also, if you get spinning too fast, work against the centrifugal force by doing a trick that involves extending your arms or throwing out your legs. It'll slow you down.

Hope things are going well for you at your new club. I think a lot of tricks on a spinning pole look more graceful but you just have to be really careful. It's easy to go flying off of them at first! Good luck!

The tighter you pull yourself into the pole the faster it spins. Hold yourself out further and it goes slower.

I am working/scheduled Thursday nights 7pm onwards, but I also plan to come in on Sunday nights and Friday nights as much as possible.![]()

waaah well I work dayshift but sometimes stick around longer. Anyway, as far as staff goes... I'm only experienced with dayshift staff, but everyone is real nice, haven't had any real problems with anyone. The dancers I've met are all very nice, and Mama/Housemom is a sweetie!

Spinning Poles? Jump on, and hold the pose. You don't need to work it like a static pole. You need to hold and twirl, and when you get more advanced, slide down. The spin does the shit, you just have to hold tight and look pretty, instead of terrified.... I just ordered the lil mynx rotator for my new apartment!

It was alright for a while, then stunk through December. I'm not working until Tuesday, but we'll see how the new year will treat me, otherwise I may have to go to nights...

I'm looking forward to trying a spinning pole. I tried a static one first at a class and go VERY bruised up. I think I was trying to do too much too fast.

well I plan on working tonight depending on how the snow is...we'll see how it goes the first time im on one of those!

just go slow! first time I used one (at a dance studio thank g-d, not a club where custys could see) I launched myself into a mirror. Nothing broke but it hurt like all hell and was embarrassing as shit. The only 'real dancer' at the studio, and first thing I do is bust my ass and come limping back into the lobby! I was trying the merry go round spin (where you just launch yourself at the pole and kinda fly around it, legs out beside ya) and that spinny pole was sure an unpleasnet suprise!

Report back to us! How was the spinner ? How was the Oasis ?![]()

I like oasis. Wanted to go in SUnday but it was snowing pretty bad here in CS so I didnt want to chance driving out to denver. one of the downfalls of a long commute.
But hey I go the job! Me and my friend Vivi will be working there together so we will take turns driving and such. First time I have ever worked with a friend before so I am a bit nervous. I like the club and the house mom seems friendly enough. Vivi knows a few girls who work there. She worked with two of them out in Chicago at the Atlantis.
That pole through me for a loop. I went to do a spin and went flying around in a circle for like a whole minute! lol the look on my face was priceless!made good tips though anyways. maybe the guys found me amusing.
Looking forward to work on thursday!

Landing is the hard part. With a static pole you can touch down on your back, your knees, your elbows, shoulders, whatever. If you do that on a spinning pole you get burns 10x as bad as anything you can get from the pole. If you're doing an upright move, get your feet under you to touch down. If you're doing an inverted move, get your hands under you. The biggest advice I could give you would be to go on youtube and look up x-pole
Watch the videos, and pay attention to how the girls move differently on the spinning poles. There are a lot of different tricks that you can do, that you can't do on static poles, and a lot of moves that look better while spinning
