    Default celexa

Anybody else feel weird when they first started taking this? And how long does this spacey feeling last? I know these are normal side effects, but I would just like to hear from some real people, you know? It's been so long since the first time I was on it that I can't remember...

I had that spacey feeling before I starting celexa(years ago). That was part of the reason why I was put on it in the first place. Are you sure the spaciness is from the meds and not from depression?
For me, it took weeks for the the meds to start taking effect. After about 3 weeks there was some improvement and after a couple months a drastic improvement.

I feel kinda like I'm lightly rolling. Kinda out of it as well. And I didn't feel this way before! I'm on it for mainly anxiety, so I was keyed up all the time...

Hmmm.... I dont know. Maybe you need a lower dose to start then work your way up?

True. Doctors will lower the dose if you feel out of sorts. That's not good, if you need to drive or work.

My daughter is now on 10mg 1x daily. So far she feels fine.

My dose is only 10mg, and in the past I've been on 20-40 a day, so I didn't think it would affect me like this. I might just be more sensitive to it since it's been a while since I've been on it. Thanks for all your replies.

Generally a week or two. You may have been put on too high a starting dose. Mention it to the doc you work with. It's generally best to start at a low dose (10-20mg) and titrate up over a few weeks or so to avoid side effects such as that.
