Will the 7-day 2% Yeast Infection Medicine Help?

Cheeeeeerist. These last few years, I seem to get a painful yeast infection several times a year, and almost always after I'm with a new partner.

Am I allergic to latex or something? Is it fucking up my vag flowers (flora, hehe)?

I got some script stuff from the doctor a few months ago, but don't have time to go right now.....

I got the 7-day, 2% gel. from the pharmacy. It looks like the strongest thing they have. I've done the 1-day and 3-day. They work fine, but the YI comes back.

Garlic doesn't work. I also saw a "Candida Cleanse" the other day, but shit costs $25!!

So my question is...will the longer treatment help put my pussy in a better condition, or will this keep happening now because of my health or body chemisty?

BTW, I've asked several doctors/nurses this over the years and have NEVER gotten a straight answer! They just gave me shit to treat it and went on their way. Its a miserable and painful feeling, although I'm not dying or anything....

I haven't had a YI in a few years, but I remember Diflucan working amazingly well (and fast). If your doc has seen you for this before, he/she would probably call it in for you. It's worth asking, and it def doesn't take 7 days.

Diflucan doesn't work for me either. I had a script and used it 3 times in less than 5 months.

Shit, I do have acidophillus pills, they are sitting on my counter. I never remember to take them! They are chewable.

Its seems that the YI is almost always brought on by sex, a few days after. Do you think that latex might be throwing my vag off-balance?

I have this problem too sometimes, I usually get them a couple times a year. I really wonder if it is due to the latex, but I wish there really was a way to prevent it altogether.

Yes, or it's the lube. Having a lot of sex in a short period of time, especially if it's been a while, can put you at risk for BV, yeast, and UTIs. I've read that the glycerin in lube can cause yeast infections. You could try a water-based lubricant.

Take acidophilus supplements, and break open capsules and put some of the powder you-know-where. That helps.

The same thing happens to me, the only time it didnt was when I used a non latex comdom(was lambskin), but then I read those don't protect agianst stds and i get a yi everytime. It has to be the latex. I don't think the 7 day treatment works any better, there is just more concentration in the 1 and 3 day ones. Have you tried AZO for yeast? i take it as a daily supplement, but usually will get a mild yi still after sex w/ a condom.

Are you possibly sensitive to yeast in food as well? It's a condition called candidia. Check this out pumpkin:

What kind of condom and lube do you use? Many lubes contain glycerin, which is a kind of sugar, which can cause yeast infections. Try polyurethane condoms, such as the Trojan Supra, as well.

7 day is much better, as it kills it all dead. OTC yeast infection creams are more widely abused than antibiotics, so it's a good idea to kill it off.

This is what I was going to suggest. But it's easier to just shove the whole capsule up there. Just make sure you wear a pantyliner or something... cause it can be a little messy...

And def. make sure you're using the refrigerated kind. There is a much higher concentration of live and active cultures in the chilled bottles.

I am allergic to latex- I put two and two together when I had a hideous chemical burn on my ankle after continuously applying latex band-aids to a wound (strip bars are diiirty folks, hence the continuous bandaging.) AND I had a "puss-y p*ssy" from balling a dude with a huge dick that threatened the structural integrity of the latex condoms. It hasn't happened again since I stopped using latex products.

    Start using polyurethane condoms.

    .
I don't use lube, although the condoms I use have different types of lube (on them? In them?) I have Durex multi-pack, and they all have a diff kind of lube for different "sensation."

I can't fucking tell the difference though. But I only use standalone lube for buttsex. And I use the Walgreens brand cheap water-based personal lubricant. Generic baby!

I'm a big fan of poly, used to use them all the time. Not sure why I went back to latex.

i can not say this enough.

    yogurt.

    yogurt. yogurt. yogurt.

    first let me clarify something:

i have used the monistat 3 day pack before, to treat a yeast infection. each time i have used it over the past 10whatever years, it has burned more severely. i'm talking gut-wrenching DEEP inside pain for hours. so bad you want to cry. i looked it up, and it turns out there are many other women like me who have the same reaction. there are even some law suits being started because of it.

    that being said:

a year or so ago i got a yeast infection. i didn't want to take monistat because of my past experiences with it. i searched all over the internet for a cure and found mostly 3 home remedies..

    garlic (inserted)
apple cider vinegar (filling the tub with a bottle and enough water to soak in)
    yogurt (inserting using a tampon)

i (and this isnt meant to be offense) am not a hippy. i am also a very skeptical person. that being said, i was so fed up with the infection, i figured i'd give the "cures" a try.

the garlic didn't work, and it burned. the vinegar seemed to work for a few hours and then the relief was gone. i did it again over the course of a couple days, and nothing changed.

    the yogurt though....
it -is- weird. it -will- freak you out a bit at first. i was worried it wasn't safe or it would make things worse...

    but no

dip a tampon in PLAIN (nothing added at all) yogurt. insert it into your vagina like normal. leave it in for at least an hour. repeat this a couple of times a day and the infection will be gone within 48 hours.

    it SERIOUSLY works.

to "boost" the effect, i tend to eat yogurt as well. i also try to eat some garlic, since eating it is supposed to help (and it can't hurt).

I'm getting some plain yogurt, I still have the applicators from the 7-day stuff.

Oh, and my vag feels great. I really, really, really, really, really want to have sex tonight.

Will the gunk come out of me if I have sex and potentially gross out my partner? I know its not recommended, but what about a mild natural douche, with vinegar and distilled water?

Do those even get gunk out?

My poor guy, I've been avoiding sex out of the fear of getting another YI. I'm glad I'm not alone on this subject, mine seem recurring as well. Might be the lube or condoms! Sticking anything up there makes me very sick to my stomach, I'm not sure if it's my body, or the concept of sticking yogurt, garlic, weird chemicals, and cotton and plastic up there...

Not sure about the douche. I'm disappointed the garlic didn't work for you. It always works for me...I usually will FILL my vag w/garlic pieces. I cut them up and they don't burn me at all...I do it right before bed and I take them out in the morning.

However I think a script would work just fine too. Go to a doctor. And maybe there is an underlying issue there...be sure to get tested/checked out all that stuff...perhaps a specialist could better help you.
