Default my skin is taking a beating

i've always had pretty sensitive skin, but i feel like recently it's been taking such a beating from work!

    sorry if tmi
but my ass has been breaking out so much, mainly after nights i work. i'm sure it's from a combo of the stage, the chairs in the club, and sitting/dancing on guys laps. Yuck! i guess this just comes with the territory, but i'm tired of my ass being covered in zits! i happen to think i have a nice ass but i can't show it off if it's got zits on it from the club. what do you ladies do about this? is there something i could buy to wipe/sanitize my ass with during the night?

and also, recently i've been getting horrible razor burn & ingrown hairs. it's not only around my bikini line, but the inside of my thighs/legs as well after shaving. it's a little uncomfortable, but mainly i just think it looks like crap.
someone told my last night to put deoderant on the area after shaving- haven't tried it yet. any other tips?

i just hate that my skin is taking a beating from hazards of the job, haha. even the skin on my face is- under my eyes the skin is so sensitive and hurting i think from wearing concealer and makeup and then scrubbing it off the next day.
basically i'm a mess. sorry for the long post, any help is appreciated!

When I was using regular disposable razors, the anti-perspirant trick did help. But it wouldn't stop irritation completely, and I was concerned about slathering my pubic region in aluminum daily, so...

I started using an electric razor and using it dry on myself. It won't give you as close a shave so you'll still have that shadow there, but there's zero irritation. At least for me. Seriously, it's wonderful.

What I do for razor burn is right after I get out of the showe,r I splash witch hazel on the area, and then I put deoderant over that, while the witch hazel is still wet. I have a special deoderant stick just for that purpose.
Since adding witch hazel, my razor burn has lesened dramaticially, and is usually none at all.

For ass zits, use a body acne scrub and when you getout of the shower, you can use witch hazel on your ass to. It's an antibacterial astringent, so it should help with the pimples.

I agree. Also put a thick cream on your rear to help protect it through the shift. Every chance you get wipe the old off, and apply new thick cream... rub it in good. It helps.

I have REALLY sensitive skin too. This could almost be my post.

I try to do my shaving the night before work (or after work as the case may be). I'm not totally smooth, but what's their hand doing on my bikini line? I only use the disposable 2 blade sorts as well-those multiblade ones tear me up.

For the assbumps-do they use windex to clean the stage? Are they itchy bumps? I break out on the butt from bad stage cleaning all the time. Baby powder on the butt and thighs before going on stage helps a LOT.

For the face-cold cream! Don't scrub! I can't put anything under my eyes until the next morning even though I use cold cream except maybe a lil jojoba oil on the sides where the crows feet come in. If it burns/hurts, just don't put anything there.

I know it's kind of a Canadian thing, but the girls around here almost all use these booty towel things. We use them on chairs and laps, so our bare asses don't have to have as much contact with the bacteria-laden surfaces...Well, except for stage if you do floor work I suppose. This is helpful for me, I find. And on my ass, I just use a little bit of clearasil scrub a few times a week. A little bit of benzoyl peroxide is good for acne anywhere...I think. I'm no dermatologist, this is just what works for me.

As for your face and make-up removal, maybe try some of those cleansing makeup remover pads? They don't scrub as much as facecloths, and they remove the makeup really well. My eyes get really dark from working nights too. Everything always thinks I'm older than I am, because I'm just not cut out for night shifts! Oh well.

Yeah - some kind of cloth. It can be as small as a bandana or big like a pashmina. Most chairs will cause you to sweat as well as being not too clean. Seriously - it will work and it will feel much nicer to sit on. Look for something i a natural fibre or an artificial fibre designed to take moisture away from the skin - like those fancy socks. Wash very thoroughly but very, very gently. Love your ass. It's how you makes your livin's. Your face as well - there is no need to scrub. If you need to scrub get a new make up. The existing acne - apply acne cream - like oxy - but plentifully. Rub it in; don't just let it dry on the surface of the skin. Rub in, let absorb, rub in again. Follow it with a moisturizer - a hydrocortisone works pretty well. It should take a couple of days. Shaving bumps - not a popular view, but what worked best for me was just shaving with the grain instead of against. You don't get as close a shave, but the hair can grow back out instead of in. I posted here once seriously thinking I had a cyst because of an ingrown hair - ick.

for shaving, try the aveeno shaving gel with the orange cap. i have a hard time finding it anywhere but cvs, so look there first.

i've always had a lot of problems shaving as often as this job requires, but with this stuff, it's sooooo much better. i liked the aveeno i used before too, but not like this. it's amazing.

    * Take an oil-containing supplement- salmon, coconut, flax, whatever you like- it will lubricate your skin from the inside and help you feel better

    * I wear dressing gowns at work- it helps keep my skin from being exposed to dirty surfaces, and keeps me warm

    * Buy baby oil gel to use to remove eye makeup. Never scrub at the skin around your eyes- use a warm washcloth and dab it all off. Give the gel a chance to warm up- it "melts" the eye makeup when it has a chance to warm up.

    * Use new razors all the time, use a men's shaving gel, if needed. And use aspirin masque scrub (lite coat aspirin and witch hazel) to prevent and treat ingrowns. There are products specifically targeting men for ingrown hair removal, but be warned, I heard howling from the bathroom when my friend tried it- I think it's mostly alcohol-based.

Canadians-how do you carry these booty cloths? In your purse? I like the idea, though I wear butt-covering clothes most of the time (gown club)-some nights we don't have to.

There is a chance that your stripper-butt is folliculitis, like me. I had it so bad that I now have to apply prescription antibacterial stuff to my butt every time I take a shower for like, maybe the rest of my life! If I forget they come straight back bad. I have been using the scrip for more than a year :/

Now I use a blanket every time I go on stage and I periodically swipe my cheeks with an antibacterial baby wipe if I happen to touch my bare ass to a leather booth seat or something similar.

The number one problem with stripper-butt is scrubbing. if you have the butt pimples DO NOT SCRUB THEM AT ALL! They exist because your butt is irritated from friction+bacteria. More friction will make it worse. Do not exfoliate the area or pick at them or you could be prone to staph infection.

I use Olay Cleansing Wipes for sensitive skin and buy them at Target. They completely cleanse, and unlike baby wipes, I can rely on them not to irritate my skin. These I use at work. I also use a sulfur soap when I shower in my break-out prone areas, and leave it on for about a minute or two. I get it at a health food store.

Overall, it's very important to pat dry your skin after showering/getting wet. When I used a hot tub regularly, I noticed problems with more break-outs. Also, I'd always thought it was a good idea after showering to let the water on my skin sink in, and allow for moisturization. It turns out, since towel drying (even after using the wipes mentioned above) I haven't had any break-outs!

I just fold it up real small and carry it in my purse hand. That way I can casually fluff it out and sit on it when I'm with a customer. It only looks weird if you're not used to it...like really, every girl is carrying them around here. Just in our hands, mostly. I only know it might be uncommon elsewhere because of questioning American customers.

I always use safegard antibacterial soap and concentrate scrubbing tose "outbreak" areas with it. It seems to do the trick.

I use a hand towel; it's not a synthetic material and it is thicker than a handkerchief. I'm not worried about "catching" things - but the chairs make the backs of my legs sweat (and, of course, my ass) which leads to break outs in itself. If you're the only one doing it, people will notice, but when they ask why you carry the towel, just gesture to the chair and say "well because... I'm not wearing pants" like it is very obvious. Or you can go another route and say "because. You get me very excited." I personally couldn't get that out without some deadpan irony, but good luck if you can. But you can go to the fabric and get ends in a dozen fabrics to match any given outfit. Once you try it, you will not go back. It is much more comfortable.

Before you go to bed you could try putting this baby "diaper rash and skin protection ointment" on the areas that hurt (though I wouldn't do my face). The one I get from the drug store is called Desitin. While you're at work you could use those Acne cleansing pads on your bum or any other place that gets sweaty.

I just posted to a similar question in another thread, but my favorite product is egyptian magic. It totally cured my breakouts.
