Default Argh, laser hair removal not working

I've been getting laser hair removal for my legs and my entire crotch (complete Brazilian, even up to the back door) for a couple of years now. I'm on my second session of 7 treatments of lasering for my crotch and my first session, treatment 5 for legs. And the hair keeps growing back! Admittedly, it's a lot finer and there's a lot less of it. And it's easier to shave--I don't get razor burn as much anymore. But after paying thousands of dollars for these treatments I really don't feel like any SHOULD be growing back. It'll suck if I have to go and keep getting waxed after doing all this.

Has anyone else had somewhat frustrating results with lasering? I've been doing it forever it seems with only somewhat satisfactory results. Stop growing back, stupid body hair!

I was thinking about getting it done, but if you read up on it online it does say that it is not really removal just reduction. Apparently there is a huge chance that the hair will grow back.

Yeah, true, it is just reduction. I just hoped that after getting multiple treatments it would make it go forever. I grow body hair like no other, it's the bane of my existence.

That's discouraging....I posted a poll about yall's experiences with laser hair removal not long ago because I was thinking to get it done. There were lots of mixed reactions along the line of what you're saying here.

If you don't mind my asking, what is your complexion/hair type?

that was my result too. It wasn't totally removed, but I'm essentially pleased.

I have the absolute ideal complexion/hair type for lasering--very fair skin with dark, dark body hair. That just doesn't seem to make much of a difference though--it keeps coming back. I didn't want to have to shave much at all after getting lasered and while, yes, it is certainly improved, it is still very noticeable to me when it grows back in.

You'd think evolution would have figured out by now that we don't need as much body hair as it thinks we do.

Well, I'd say that women who tend to have little body hair are more likely to be selected as mates, thus increasing the gene pool of "little body hair" people....but we've gotten so gosh-darn efficient at hair removal the unnatural way that natural selection is totally missing the point!

Laser didn't work too well for me either. There might be reduction but it still grows in.

Regarding women with little hair -- I don't know too many and I can't really believe that theory since in some populations, women tend to be on the hairier side. On a certain level I agree. It's a hormonal thing. But women with bigger waists are supposed to have unbalanced hormones or aren't as healthy (or intelligent according to a recent study). The whole waist-hip ratio thing.

Do you know what kind of laser is being used? (Ruby, Alexandrite, Diode, YAG..?)

I'm not sure what type of laser it is actually. Why, do some work better than others?
