Default Looking for tasy meal replacement drinks

I know more and more are being put on tyhe maket, but I havn't ever tried any. I don't know what to look for in the nutrition content, and I don't know what to look for in taste. i'm planning on taking it to school with me so I can put off lunch untill I get home, and avoid the pizza hut personal size pizza's they serve at my school (bought one every single day mon- thurs last semester). Classes start at 8 am, and I'll be home by 3. I just need something to get me through untill then. Rec's?

Most of them have high-fructose corn syrup in them, and insufficient nutrition. You'd be better off to pack a sandwich and some fruit, or a granola bar, or string cheese and crackers, snacks like that.

Fawn, me and you go to the same school right? If so those pizzas are death. The smoothies upstairs in the Den aren't that bad and the energy one actually works for me, but I don't know how nutritious they really are. Better than pizza though.

I need a pick-me-up as well, so I hope you get some good replies. I'll check out the Spiru-tein stuff too.

i second the spirutein! I have the strawberry one but they have tons of different flavors. Im going to try the cookies and cream one next. I mix mine with soy milk or almond milk, usually blend it with sum frozen bananas and berries

oh yah. dont pre mix the spirutein, make it when you are ready to drink it. It goes bad fast!
I use this cup when i need to take it to the gym or school:

(the bottom of the cup unscrews and you keep the powder in there, then the milk in the top see through part. )

Where can I buy this Spirutein? Is it just a healthy meal replacement drink or is it like Slimfast where you can lose some weight, too?

I buy mine from my local health food store but you can also order it online. I would go to the health food store and pick up a couple of single packets in different flavors before you spring for a huge can. Like NP said, there are a LOT of flavors, although I haven't found a bad one yet. I was stuck on Cappucino for years then I got sick of it. Now I have the blueberries and cream which is really good but next I'm getting the cherries jubilee one. Cookies and cream sounds delish too

my blueberries and cream states that it is 190 calories with one cup of skim milk, so it could be used to lose weight too.

    eta: mmmmmm!!! flavor!!!

I like the Chocolate Milk ready-to-drink shakes from Muscle Milk, available at Target for $7 for a 4-pack. Tasty, balanced, easy to haul around, and cheap.
