Default This is the best sauce, ever!

There is a local fast food style restaurant in my city called Cafe Yumm. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan offerings, all organic ingredients and so good!

Well, they make this product called Yumm! Sauce. It is soooooooo good! I'm totally addicted to the stuff now. I can never move away from Oregon, because it is only sold locally.

I predict this restaurant chain is going to be like Starbucks. I've started using this sauce to replace mayonnaise, sour cream, butter, ketchup, hollandaise sauce and just about every other kind to food topping.

So if anyone wants to buy a franchise, this might be one of the best investments since Subway franchised their restaurants.

Next, I'm going to try using the sauce as a marinade for chicken! It really works well with meatloaf (use instead of ketchup or salsa).

We need places like that where I live! I love my condiments almost more than I love my food.

    Is the sauce healthy?

^^It is a vegan sauce that is golden in color and has a texture a bit like dijonaise but it is pourable like ranch dressing. But it tastes like nothing I've ever tried before. It has gobs of savory flavor, but it isn't spicy like salsa. It is hard to describe it is so unique (at least to the western US. It might have it's culinary roots in Asia or something).

I'm totally addicted to the stuff. I think the base is garbanzo beans (chick peas) and canola oil, but it doesn't taste like hummus or beans at all really. Oh, I just tried it as a veggie dip and it is awesome!

    The possibilities are endless.

I'd give up chocolate before I'll give up my Yumm sauce!

This restaurant make me want to move to Oregon really bad. I wish there was something like that in FL. *jealous*

According to this site, the recipe for Yumm sauce:

    Original Yumm Sauce:
1/2 cup oil (I used a canola oil)
    1/2 cup almonds
1/3 cup brewers yeast (the grocery store didn't carry brewers yeast specifically but assured me that fast acting yeast would be a good substitute. It seems to have worked).
1/3 cup garbonzo beans - drained (I used closer to 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup soybeans (again, the store didn't carry soybeans so I used a silken tofu and used approx. 1/2 cup. This seems to have worked.)
    1/2 cup water
    1/2 cup lemon juice
    2 garlic cloves
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp curry powder

Blend nuts, beans and oil in food processor. Then blend in yeast and liquids one at a time. Puree until smooth. Voila!

It does sound good! I'm going to make some for a party we're going to tomorrow, I have most of those things already.

Yes! That's it! I see that it has yeast. Maybe that is what is so delicious in the blend?

That sounds delicious. I'd swirl that over brown rice first, I think.

I want to try this but would I totally ruin it if I took out the almonds?

Oh and can anyone figure out the calorie content? Can't find it on either of those sites.

Well, I just made it. I eyeballed most of the ingredients (as is my norm) and it turned out mighty tasty. Kind of like a sweet creamy hummus. The curry makes it really special. I'm hoping the yeast balloons up, that'd be neat! I have never made anything with yeast before and obviously have no clue what it does. But the sauce tastes really good on baby carrots and I'm going to enjoy it with pita chips soon. Thanks again for bringing it up, Paris!
