    Default portland, OR

because Washington SUCKS so bad for dancing, and i don't really wanna take the chance in spending alot of money i don't have traveling to other states right now im gonna work in portland. I've just spend 2+ hours reading all the old threads and posts on here, and i have a kinda feel for what the clubs are like.

i really just want some updated info. where the best area's are to work, how the laws are, earning potentials.??? are there clubs where i can work a off and on? drop in basis?? ...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for taking the time out for your input and info! i really do appreciate it so much! xoxo

There are many recent threads and nothing I can contribute here will be any newer or more accurate than what's been stated already, so I suggest doing searches and looking at Yekhefah's recent thread. If you want to ask about specific clubs after looking at some of the other threads, maybe some gals will have answers for you.

thanks Susan!! i don't know how i missed Yekhafah's thread. that was really imformative.

do you know how picky they are about skinny or thick girls? im more on the thicker side with a booty, and natural b cup's. are some clubs more into barbi's or are they all pretty mixed?

and what are the club's with minimum stage shows?

    THanks in advance!

I just wanted to add that about 3 years ago I was also an unhappy Washington dancer and traveled to Portland to dance . I know that my information is not current it maybe will help you ?? Now I lived waaaayyy up by BC so it was a hike for me to get to Portland but I have to say well worth it . I ended always dancing at The viewpoint and they were very understanding of my situation and they also have a hotel around the corner that gives discounts to traveling dancers etc , I stayed there and it was safe clean and cheap ! The girls were pretty friendly and I made decent money . I also stopped by the dancing bear a few times and its the just the friendliest club I have ever been to and I was told on more than one occasion that I was more than welcome to hop up on stage any time .

I like Portland because it was alot like Boston for me , as far as clubs go . The girls really know how to work the stage and the customers seemed to like the shows and tip accordingly . Also they are NO TOUCH !! Woohoo and being a Washington the manager made sure I knew how to give a no touch dance .

I have been missing Portland so much that I am actually thinking of moving to Oregon for a year or so . That was a bit off topic .

Actually ya know I have no idea what your situation is like in Wash but the rent is alot cheaper in Portland compared to Seattle etc so maybe if you like dancing in OR than you could even move there ?/ Just a thought . Well good luck anyways and just stop wasting your time dancing in Washington .

Thanks so much for ur input babe! Yes, washington is terrible, I actually never even tried dancing out here, I'm from BC, and moved to seattle just over a year ago. And there's noooo way I am even going to try the clubs out here with all the bs and the arrests for looking at a custie ect....not the kinda chance I wanna take, having something like an arrest on my record for nothing, ya know?
Where in BC are u? Do u work up there?
So would u say most clubs there are cool with off and on work?
    Thanks again hun

I am in Florida now !! I lived up in Bellingham , WA for like 2 yrs . I used to drive al that way to Seattle for work , I never had the balls to work in BC . The whole different country , crossing the border thing seemed intimidating to me . I am sure it was my loss though .

From my experience and I worked with another girl who was living in Enumclaw who also traveled 2 Portland for work , we both never had problems working here and there , they understand that we travel and cant keep a schedule . The Bellingham airport has direct flights to Vegas too , if they had them when I was there I am sure I would have tried a weekend in Vegas too .

Washington is so crazy to dance , the license fees are crazy , the customers dont seem to have the 1st clue and expect too much , the managers let anything go and the girls are pretty cut throat (at least at the club I worked at ) I can not say enough good things about Portland though , not everyone may agree with me though .

That is so definitely not true these days. There are more really expensive houses/condos in SEA, but overall there are a lot more affordable options there. PDX is smaller and more people want to live here than there's housing for, so it's like a Houston/Austin situation where the smaller city is the more expensive one.

I live and work in WA but my husband wants to move to portland. 300 a day is considered bad, is it unheard of to earn 6-800 on a daily dayshift basis down there?

Speaking for dayshifts: $300 a day here is considered average or even pretty good here. Sorry to break the news. $600 to $800 is not unheard of here, but you have to be on the top of your game. And no, you won't hit it on a daily basis, but a few times a month, sure.

I think that's right...anyone else can add if they want.

And ruru123, sorry I didn't pm you, but I figured you'd get your info here best . You don't need any permits or licenses to dance here - just call for an audition and you can usually get on the schedule right away.

Exotica magazine (you can look it up online) has a listing of all the clubs in this area. And I wish the clubs and reviews section was running, but if you have questions about a certain one, you can ask.

    Good Luck!

Haha, I'm like that with Australia. While everyone is complaining about the high rent, I'm THRILLED it's so cheap!

I'm sure you'll do fine as long as you remember to put it in perspective!

I just wanted to note that $300 a shift is totally within reach of a girl who takes care of herself, looks good, feels confident, and can hustle. I think that a lot of the PDX girls on SW are a LOT more serious about the job (and better at it) than most strippers in portland. $300 is by NO means average in this city. Many, if not most, of the strippers in Portland are looking at consistently sub-$100 shifts, particularly during the day.

pdx is chalked full of clubs, we have the most per capita than anywhere in the usa i believe. its not as much as other states, however if you are beautiful and can down a night shift then 300 is pretty easy depending on where you are working. although 500 and up is not as comon it can be done. just dont bother dancing in outer southeast portland, not only are the clubs dead, the clientel is pretty yucky in my opinion.
