Definitely check out the Louvre even if you're not a huge art buff, at least to see a few famous ones (da Vinci, the Venus de Milo, etc.) in person. Also, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, Chateau de Versailles, and Citroen gardens are worth seeing. Hit up a club or two, mybe le Baron or le Cabaret Bar. And don't forget to go shopping in the Marais (pretty much all designer stuff) and the marche d'Aligre (great lil flea market)!

I dug the Luxembourg Gardens, but only if the weather's nice do I recommend it.

Yes, Mona is in the Louvre, and lots of other great art - definitely worth seeing. But also go to Musee d'Orsay, which is loaded with the Impressionists (my faves). My other suggestion is to climb to the top of Notre Dame - beautiful view of the city and incredible gargoyles, all different.

Also take time to strol the Latin Quarter and have a glass of wne or an espresso in a sidewalk cafe.

    Have fun!

Glam, have you read the The Da Vinci Code? I was there before I read it, but now I think it would be fun to retrace some of the steps in the book, starting at the Louvre.

Marais (in the 3rd district) is my favorite place. Cool shops, restaurants, and people. It's one of the older sections of Paris, and I love the buildings. Somehow it feels less touristy to me than some of the other areas. The Picasso museum is right by there too.

You can also listen to live music in the Notre Dame cathedral. A romantic evening could be eating wine, bread, and cheese right there on the Sienne and going in for one of the concerts.
