    Default another tattoo thread

I was about to post this on the most recent tattoo thread, but I didn't want to thread jack!

My club, which is a dive/blue collar type place allows tattoos. Managers don't have a problem with it what so ever. In fact, we have a few girls who are heavily tattooed, but they don't do so great. Not saying it has anything to do with their tattoos though. So I'm not sure. I have a couple of tattoos myself, both of which are pretty small.

I had plans recently to get a very large piece done on my back. My entire back. But I've put it on hold because I'm afraid that it will hurt my earnings potential.

I'm only paranoid because there have been a few customers who have voiced their opinions about not liking tattoos, but that they are okay with mine because they are small and "tasteful." So I've been doing kind of a survey at work to compare how many yes and no's I get. So far it's 50/50, but I haven't asked any of my regulars yet.

I was really set on getting inked but now I'm a little worried because of this.

So I have a question for the strip club patrons who aren't really into tattoos. Would you tip a girl any less (or stop tipping all together) if she showed up to work one day "heavily" tatted?

Tattoo lovers feel free to voice your opinions as well. Thanks.

I've had customers ask me, before I even took my dress off, "You don't have any tattoos do you?" Yes, there are customers who are that turned off by tats. They will not tip a tatted girl or buy dances. You are also limiting your choice of clubs that will hire you. Just stuff to think about...

Personally, I think tats are hot. If they make you happy go for it, but be realistic about the pro's and cons. How much it will hurt your money really depends on the area you live in and the type of custy's in your club. IMHO, Yes, being heavily tatted hurts your money. Is it by a little or a lot, I have no idea.

Thats good to think about in case you want to change clubs or move anywhere. Like Vegas in some clubs you have to have them covered up and that can be a PITA to cover.

I think the word "tattoo" when mentioned to guys is the same feeling as the phrase "breast augmentation" or "boob job". They think big, fake, over the top or poorly done. Most guys think the tat the girl will pick out will be unfeminine. It seems guys have a general distaste when a girl mentions shes getting a tat or boobs. I have both a tat and fakies and no one has ever complained about either. In fact most guys who aren't even fond of tats have told me mine was cute or nicely done. Same goes for the boobs.

I'm curious (since I like chics with tats) what do you plan on having done as your back piece? Whatever you choose I'm sure you'll consider your job in the thought process and ultimately whether you're stripping or not choose something you'll love forever.

How very appropriate... I'm getting a large back piece done next month (16 hrs/4 sessions/year waiting list!!!)... I'm NERVOUS as hell!!!!! Not just about the pain, but about possibly affecting my earnings... so I am right there with ya!!! However, I was this SO badly and have had the design in my head for a LONG time. I think that as long as the ink is good, the artist is talented, it's not offensive or overdone, it can be a moneymaker. Of course, there are guys with preferences either way and the tat can be a deal breaker/maker, but often a hot chick is just a hot chick, tat or no tat.

I will let update this thread after Feb. 18-March 31st.

I've never thought of tattoos as enhancing a woman's appearance. I've seen beautifully done tattoos, but for me, they diminish the look of the person. I've even told people they have beautiful tattoos, but I would consider that person to be more beautiful without the tattoo. For me, there's no tattoo you can get that would improve your appearance.

However, there is a market segement which loves tattoos. Although you might lose my business, you might get a much greater part of the tattoo-lover business. They might find you more attractive and seek you out.

And be careful how much faith you put into the answers given by the patrons you ask. They might just be answering whatever they think you want to hear with the hopes that you will like them better. If someone were to ask me, I wouldn't want to hurt their feelings. I might comment on some positive inherent attribute of the tattoo (the design is beautiful, the work is excellent, etc) rather than saying I think they'd look better without the tattoo.

I don't like tattoos, but one or two small ones aren't a dealbreaker if I like the dancer. But large tattoos--I've never seen a dancer hot enough that I'd overlook it and buy a dance from her or even tip her on stage.

There will always be customers that like tattoos and customer's that don't. It's the same thing with breast size, hair color, height, weight, etc.

If a guy does like my tattoos, he may not like my boobs or whatever else. If you really want to get it, go for it. If you find that it hurts your earnings you can cover it up. I now with a large piece this can be a pin in the ass but it can be done. I know a girl with a full back piece who had to do this at some clubs.

I'm likely to tip more to and more likely to buy dances from a girl with (well done) tattoos. That said, I'm not a high roller or particularly representative of the customers you probably care about most (and rightly so - "strip club patrons who aren't really into tattoos").

I cover my tattoos at work! But I love them, I'd just find another job if it was a problem. Luckily I have that luxury - but you might too, there are always plenty of clubs/customers with different attitudes towards tats.

On stage, it really wouldn't be an issue. As far as buying dances, well it could be. Much like anything else, the right personality can make me overlook some things.

That being said, most of my favorite dancers over the years have had no tattoos or have limited themselves to one or two, kept them on the small side and had them in "non-strategic" areas. (The tramp stamp area on the small of your back is the safest bet).

I suppose whether to ink or not can be a matter of where you want to go as a dancer. If you're content with working in smaller blue collar type places, big tats aren't going to be that much of an issue. If you wish to work in a more upscale club someday, you'd perhaps better reconsider.

The whole dealio with tats is that some equate them with being slutty and/or a biker babe. Personally, I love them! It would be my dream come true to someday be with a tatted lady. Some people just don't like certain things, but I would bet that many of those who are turned off by tattoos are of the Madonna/whore school, wherein they want to IMAGINE they're with a perfect innocent virgin, and let's face it, there's no such thing as a tatted virgin. (I'm sure there are one or two :-)

    Exactly.

There is so much bad ink (and bad surgery) in SCs, we become conditioned to rejecting dancers with ink (and bad breasts).

That said, my ATF that took far too much of my money at the club was heavily inked and pierced.

Don't like 'em all that much. If I like the dancer, I don't let 'em stand in the way. That may get confused with approval on my part. If she asks, what am I going to say, "Distracts me from appreciating your body?" Nah. I'll say it looks nice.

Wow, thank you to everyone for all the replies.

TM- It's a fairly large intricate piece, which has to do with my family tree. I had the draft completed a couple months ago. The artist drew it directly on my back. I took plenty of pics and looked at it over and over in the mirror. I absolutely loved it.

CC- Ooh, how exciting! I look forward to you giving us the update. It's sucks that we can't get our tat's done without having to worry about it affecting our earnings.

OdysseusNJ- I wish there were plenty more customers like you. But I understand, everyone has their own taste.

This is such a tough decision for me to make. One thing I do know is that I don't plan to work at any big clubs where tattoo's are not allowed or looked down upon. I'm more comfortable working at blue collar clubs vs. upscale clubs.

Decisions, decisions! I'll update this thread as well if I ever decide to get it done.

The problem with getting a tattoo done is that you can't undo it. Having one done is pretty irrevocable and if it does hit your earnings, there's nothing you can do to turn the clock back.

    Two thoughts for you:

    (a) Is this tattoo anything you can defer until you stop dancing?

    (b) Can you have a temporary design put on? I've heard of imitation tatoos that wash off after a couple of days. If that were the case, you could see the efect of being apparently heavily tattoo'd before you committed to a real one.

And as for my personal take on tattoo's, I don't mind small tasteful tattoo's, but I'll be honest and say I'm not a fan of large ones on a woman. Somehow I find it detracts from her femininity. (Other peoples' opinions differ).

tatoos are alot like other fetish things. There is a customer base that likes them, but it's sort of a niche market in many ways.

the larger and more obvious the tatoo the more it becomes part of that fetish appeal. Same goes with the smaller and less obvious ink, dancers with those will have a larger customer base.

Agreed. Some girls with big tattoos can rock it, and make it work wonderfully....others can't. I know I couldn't. I have a couple smaller to medium sized tattoos on my back, and those don't seem to affect my income.

It all really depends on your personality and what you can pull off, but I know a lot of guys find it unnattractive.

    Personally, I think they're pretty.
