Default Pregnancy + attempt to keep tidy pubes = HELP!

Boys who freak out at the thought of grown women actually sporting pubic hair, you might wanna steer clear. I mean that in the nicest way possible. This may or may not mean you, Mast.

    SO. Here's a blunt & frank topic.

Things are getting logistically difficult. As my belly gets bigger and bigger, I not only can barely reach my genitals (cleaning is no problem, but carefully wielding a razor is different matter), I literally can't even SEE them anymore!

As I'm just now nearing month 7, I've got a ways to go, and grooming my bits ain't going to get any easier. What do other pregnant women do??? Shave blindly and clumsily? Wax (shudder)? Or just relax and let it grow for once?

A frivolous concern, ultimately, no doubt, but where else could I make such an inquiry besides our beloved SW? I'm not about to ask about this on some crunchy and/or mainstream parenting site.

That is what Mast is there for Well that is if you trust him with a razor and your vag.

If you've met him, you'd know why I, er, hesitate at that. (Ladies who've met him, you concur?)

Fear & trust issues aside, we only live together part-time at the moment, so . . . (But I appreciate the sentiment!)

After years of shaving my own pubes, I was confident in my ability to blind shave while I was pregnant. No problems.

i shaved blind too, just go slowish at first, and kinda use your opposite hand to feel for where you're at so you don't slice yourself up.
also, using a good shaving product or hair conditioner so that theres less drag on the razor is a good idea.

Shave blind, don't let Mast near you with a razor. I let my hubby try this with my first pregnancy and the results weren't pretty. I would recommend the Gillete Quattro for women, it's got these little wires that make it much harder to cut yourself. Very important when shaving such a delicate area. I trimmed daily with this all nine months with no cuts.

    Best of Luck!

I feel so blind when I shave anyway - labia and perineum wise. As much as I crane my neck I can never see what I'm doing. Maybe I would let someone else shave my mons if I was going for a racing stripe and didnt want it to end up a turning lane. Otherwise just take it all off and ask someone after if you missed a spot.

Toward the back is impossible to see! I cut myself all the time when I used to use my Venus.

You should be able to do the landing strip if you want to. It's pretty easy to see the front all the way through birth, at least that was my experience. Actually reaching the area became a problem the last couple of weeks, but it was still doable.

I humbly confess, part of me was kinda sorta hoping for a "Pffft! You're pregnant! Relax for once! Let it go!"

Just part of me though. I still prefer a groomed look overall.

Thanks all you ladies! I'll pick up one of them fancy Gillette Quattros fer sher!

If you wanna relax and let it go, thats what you should do. It's completely ok when your pregnant. I tried to but it felt weird and all scratchy. Do what makes you comfortable, you deserve it.

Heh, thanks babe! I will most likely find a happy medium - as in using your suggestion of razor & working 'blind' . . . but also not feeling like I have to be be as fastidious as I usually am.

I say relax, let it go. They'll do it for you at the hospital.

Remember how sexy Demi Moore looked with a full bush in those preggo photos she did?

Let mast trim it down with clippers if the bushiness bothers you. I'm hoping he can manipulate scissors.

There was BUSH in those Demi Moore photos?? All I remember was the cover shot - I think it was Vanity Fair, right? Don't tell me there was bush on the cover of Vanity Fair . . .

Jury is out on the Mast-with-scissors. I might end up with a 'clipped' labia, a la Schnauzer tail or Doberman ear.

I don't think I would want to shave blind with an actual razor. That's just me though. I am a little clumsy with razors.

I say either just let it go and embrace having a full and glorious bush or use a trimmer like this:

You'll be less likely to cut yourself with a trimmer

Ahhhhhh I'm going through the same thing right now.

I'm about to start my 8th month and am having quite a bit of trouble shaving everything..even my freaking legs! Lately, instead of shaving while in the shower, I've been placing a towel on the bed and shaving everything while on my side using a hand-held mirror to help me see what I can't anymore thanks to the big belly.

Not only do I feel safer (I've slipped in the shower a few times since being preggo) but my husband loves to watch me do it. He will probably end up shaving it all for me here soon. He's shaved me before I was pregnant without any cuts so I trust him though I'm still going to freak out because I won't be able to see exactly what he's doing..ugh.

I couldn't help but laugh when you mentioned asking about this on parenting sites. This one site I visit often...most of the moms on there keep it natural. One lady said she tried shaving but she felt like a stripper.

Maybe you should make an appointment to have a professional wax. Admittedly, it wouldn't be the most economic way to go about hair removal, but IMO, it seems the safest and easiest for you.

LOL! That's one of the reasons I continued to shave until the end! It was one of the few ways I still held on to my sexiness.

pft! I'm looking forward to not having to shave when I'm super pregnant.

Especially b/c I (no matter what!) get little bumpies and ingrowns, I'm really sensitive down there. And i don't want people looking at my bummpy mons when they see birth pics! lol.

My logic is wierd i think.

But I will trim. Or have rob do it.

from what i read with my wife while she is still going through her prego time is that you shouldnt sahve at all. mostly because when you go to deliver the baby all the stuff they use at that time can make your pelvic area burn like crazy. but if your like my wife just have a really good friend use hair clippers and have them give you a nice trim. you wont be bald but at least you wont be hairy either

Uh...well, I tried that one with Makayla. I can honestly say that with the increased blood flow and extra sensitivity down there...I would not recommend that.

I use Joe. If Joe's not around, I use a razor and a mirror. If you're not too keen on using a razor...then get an electric one. One that can do a close shave and also that has combs to trim the forest there.

Of course, when I was preggers with Makayla (after my waxing...well...terror) I just said, "Fuck it" and shaved bald. It was much easier than trying to make straight lines or having parts of the bush go wild. LOL

Hubby is pretty trustworthy with the razor, and I usually use a mirroe anyway as I can't do the blind shave. I am gonna need to make sure my naughty bits are kept shaven....I would hate to have my child enter this world with "rug burn"!

yes, the quatro is amazing for shaving!
when i shaved my legs, i brought a folding chair into the bathroom and sat on it and raised my leg onto the counter and shaved that way, and if that isn't comfortable, standing and putting one leg up on the chair so you can reach it better works too.

and you should go get a pedicure. because you deserve it, damnit! creating life is hard, so pamper your tootsies! i was so swollen during my pregnancy with Xan, and my feet hurt constantly, getting a pedicure every few weeks was the best thing in the world!

Uh, what "stuff" would this be? The only thing that my doc used down there during my most recent delivery was oils to help stretch me.

Oh i AM SO WITH YOU on this one. I have struggled for the last few months. I'm one of those chicks who have never had a bush. I started shaving as soon as i sprouted during puberty. I have given myself permission to relax a little with it during pregnancy and my husband doesn't mind at all. He once confessed it was almost like having a new pussy to play with. But i can only go 2-3 weeks before it makes ME nuts. The best thing i have found and I can't stress this enough is the INTUITION RAZOR. It has the soap around the blade, all you have to do is wet it. I put a fresh blade on let the water wash over my girly bits and go purely on feel alone. The soap keeps it all lubricated and the water washes it away. I tried using my hubbys clippers and massacred myself. I'm back and forth on how i want it for delivery.
My husband wants to film the whole thing and i don't know if i want trimmed bush or bald stripper pussy.
My dad took pictures of my birth and i'm horrified at my moms jungle bush lol.
