    Default Virgin (fake) Drinks

Alot of customers get turned off if I order a red bull or bottle of water. When I order a shot of something strong they get all excited. Whatever.
Point here is, Im bored of drinking and being tipsy at work. I make more money sober. I need a drink to order that taste yummy and can pass as a mixed drink or something-or-other.
    Suggestions?

All the clubs I know in Germany have special drinks for the girls (and men) which are non-alcoholic but look like alcoholic drinks and have alcoholic drink names. There is no real reason why a customer should know that you're drinking non-alcoholic drinks.

Oh, and most of the clubs that I know start with champagne for the girls, there is no lesser drink on the menu.

I have the same problem. I don't drink at all and sometimes customers will get turned off if I order a Reb Bull or water. I drink a lot of water, and I like it. And my club doesn't have any virgin drinks disguised as alcohol.

Pick out one or two of the waitresses and tell them the "gig" in advance... Mine know that if I order a "Crown and coke", they should bring me JUST a coke (in the standard cocktail glass) and charge the custy full price for the mixed drink. They get to pocket the difference. They know that anything else I order, bring to me as ordered, but I never drink Crown and coke. Now if I order a RUM and coke, a shot, a beer, etc., they'll bring it to me. But it gives me the option of having a "mixed drink" that's non-alcoholic.

IMNSHO, the best drinks for "faking it" are drinks with coke or another dark soda. The drink still tastes fine without the alcohol (unlike some other drinks) and you can't tell a difference in the appearance of the drink (unlike with, say a G&T).

Not so much fake as weak.

    1) Archers and lemonade - Archers (Peach Schnapps) is about 20% alcohol: about half the strength of a normal short. Have it well topped up with lemonade and make it last.

    2) Spritzer (white wine and soda water) is also a good way of watering down alcohol. Have it in a tall glass with lots of soda water.

There are also "no alcohol" wines available - these have been denatured until there is only 0.2% alcohol present. You could drink that all night and still walk out totally sober. Maybe your club could stock a bottle or two?

Tell the waitress beforehand to bring you soda water or tonic water when you ask for 'shots'. There's no way to tell the difference just by looking.

EDIT: oops didn't see Morgan's post, but she's right on the money. Don't listen to me lol

The waitress ideas all sound great, and I would love to use that strategy. The thing is, I'm only used to working big clubs and there could be anywhere from 5-30 waitresses at any given time. This makes it hard to tell them beforehand or have any one waitress in on my secret.

order something weak, like a malibu and pinapple. i dislike being drunk at work (although i am drunk often outside of work )

that's what i order and it does -nothing- to me. guys have never complained when i've ordered it. if i have to do a shot i do a buttery nipple or at most a lemon drop.

if i'm getting drinks too fast or i wind up with a shot of something i don't want. i say how i have to use the restroom while the shot is coming. then i'll be like "i'll do my shot first!". so, i "slam" the shot (and i don't swallow). then i get up and go to the bathroom... where i spit my drink in the sink/toilet.

note: the above tactic takes skill. i can look completely normal while holding a drink in my mouth. if you're making chipmunk faces, it doesn't work. it also takes a bit of smoothness in conversation so that it all seems legit.

Does your club have a system for underage girls? We have a wristband system (which doesn't always work) and sometimes I use those, even though I am way over the age. I also tell guys I'm diabetic or allergic to alcohol. Make sure you order a diet or a water if you tell them you are diabetic. Or tell them you are SO thirsty after getting off stage.

Yes, there is a wristband system but most customers overlook that and will ask me to drink anyways. I didn't know diabetic people couldn't drink alcohol! That's a great idea, I will probably use that from now on, thanks.

The wristband is usually to signal the bartender/waitress to get you a non-alch drink. Some diabetics don't drink, plenty do and adjust thier insulin. I'm hypoglyemic and don't drink because of my sugar. It's still a good excuse.

At my club, we have so many dancers that it's just not easy for them to remember to not make me a fake drink. So, when this happens, this is what I do.

    This is what I do:

Order a vodka/cranberry (or whatever drink of choice)

Take a sip, sqinch my face up and say, "ewww this drink is weak huh" Then customer agrees (always lol) So then I say, "ok, I'll brb. I'm gonna ask if she can remake this for me"

Then I go and get water and cran. Sit down with customer and say, "oh yea this is much better" So in customers eyes, I"m getting extra drunk, when I'm really not.

Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"

I order a vodka, lime and soda then do as CK has done above except sqwish my face up to say "Yuck! The bartender put too much [or too little] lime in it. I will take it back and get it re-made for me." The customer never really stops me.

This is where I can go to get the drink swapped over for just a virgin version (no vodka, just lime and soda).

Another technique I use a lot esp. when it is not feasible to use what I just described above: I order a vodka, lime and soda... it arrives at the table.. I then make an announcement that I have to go the DR or toilet or find when I'm next on stage (even if I do know, it's a handy excuse).. and proceed to TAKE THE DRINK WITH ME and then dump it.

Tho' I have had the obligatory "sip" of the drink with the patron before-hand

Otherwise, if they bitch at me about me ordering a water I say to them:
"Look, I drive home from here and am paranoid about RBTs so I would rather play it safe than be sorry."

Most people are understanding of this and over-look me ordering water.

    (RBT is Random Breath Test)

Our club has something called Passion Punch. It's a yummy, fruity drink that looks alcoholic but is virgin. Ask your bartender if there is something similar available for you.

The club I frequent has code names for drinks. For example if a dancer orders a "diet 7up" its code for water.

If they bitch about you not wanting to drink alcohol, you can always tell them that you already had lots of drinks that night and trying to sober up. If they're assholes insisting, then just say "Ok for YOU i'll have one more but that's it." Order your virgin drink. So they can feel special. lol.
