I think a dancer's longevity depends on how well she looks after herself.

I've seen dancers of 35 who made me offer up a silent and fervent prayer that they retire shortly, and I've seen dancers of 45 that are still damn hot.

The dancers that go on into their mid 40's all seem to exercise regularly but lightly, look after their skin, make sure they have distinctive costumes, etc.

Do that and there's no reason you can't rack up 20 years+ as a dancer.

I have met dancers in their late 30s that were top earners. I agree that it depends on how well they take care of themselves, maintain their body and looks, etc.. then there's no reason why older women can't bank!

at my first club i was the second oldest dancer (at age 25 then). i am POSITIVE i made money because of it. the "oldest" girl was 30, and she was the top earner.

Pretty much everyone at my small club who banks is at least 29 or older. I'm 23 now and this makes me look forward to these next 7 years.

I think older strippers (30+) that take care of themselves in the present and in the past would make more money.

I'm seeing more and more that age is just a number. I was browsing the magazine section recently and came across "More" magazine. It caters to age 40+, and it's really inspiring. I want to go to the library and look at a bunch of back issues, etc., just to see how amazing women can potentially look as they get older.

I'm 29 and it seems like there's so much pressure about age. I don't think it was like this when I was a teenager, because I didn't get the sense that I was at my "peak" at 16 or 18! Now, it seems like magazines and media really cater to the teen crowd. It makes me feel old if I let it! Along with the plastic surgery craze-nothing wrong with it in and of itself-but it's doing something to our culture regarding what's acceptable.

Anyway, I see that the amount of success had in strip clubs has very little to do with age. It is important to look your personal best level of "hot", and more importantly, to SHOW IT. For me, to feel my personal best, I've been getting Botox and Restalyne for over a year, just because I saw the little lines showing. I don't think anyone noticed, but I sure did and that's what mattered. I go to the gym almost daily, and nutrition is really important to me. I feel great, but I know I don't look 20 years-old. I know I look better than I did at "my" 20 years, plus I know how to "deliver" as I never would have at 20 (or so). So, won't say age doesn't "matter", because it does, but it's not the age that is the problem if there is one.

I'm wondering: do other dancers have one "bad spot," whatever that might be, that you're very aware of, and that perhaps others have commented on?

I guess this is a semi-thread jack, but I'm thinking that a thread about age is also a thread about changes in the body over time or any perceived deficiencies.

There's a 47 year old woman at my club who does well. She's not flawless, but she always acts like she's having fun, and that seems to get her a lot of clients.

It really is all dependent on the lady. I've worked with people who were 38 or so and I was like STFU I thought you were 28, and then I've worked with people who were around 40 that I was like, please stop, please stop, please stop now...

I think one key thing about being older is to make SURE that you're clothes are in the current style, same kind of things the kids are wearing, and that you dance to current music.

Reason being is I have seen SOOO many women over the years that look okay, but then they are wearing like shit from the early to mid nineties while dancing to eighties music on stage. Way to date yourself ya know!! Just make sure you keep your look fresh.

I laugh whenever some guys say that they think Im 18 or 21 and then complain about how these other women who are around my actual age ( 29+) are too old for this business and should quit, what they really want is a dancer who respects her self, likes her job and generally has healthy sexuality age is not an issue regardless of waht they say. Alot of the girls in my club hate their job and it shows in their appearance and how they end up treating themselves over the years.

Overall, the quality of girls entering the business has declined in recent years. As such, girls who used to be 20-something bankers 10 years ago are 30-something bankers nowadays ( even if their earnings have dropped somewhat ). The top earners ( as far as I know ) in one large club here are all 35ish and up.

Ok, sorry about the threadjack. I was just thinking about that today. I think "back in the day" (dancing mid 90-ies for me), dancing was deemed more glamorous and more of a career. The girls at my club and myself included put everything into dancing. Work out, clothing, music, nails, hair, make-up etc...
All those things were like a full time job.
Most girls now (not all) that are entering the bizor just entered within the last few yrs, just throw something on, put their make-up on like they think strippers wear it and tell the dj to play whatever for them. I don't get it.

For instance....If I am wearing a black patton leather outfit with thigh high boots...you bet I am going to pick out some badass rock n' roll song and not a Mariah Carey song. The point is we all put so much thought into stripping. In my experience guys miss that "glamour and class" The 30 and 40 yr olds were the girls from the 80 and 90-ies that did all those things and that is prob why they tend to be better earners.

All the other stuff you guys talked about is true too about men liking a more mature woman.

Also older woman have the art of conversation down a little better perhaps than a very young girl. Men like good conversation in addition to a hot woman. Really men come for the visual stimulation but they also like to talk.
How much does a 40 yr old have in common with an 18 yr old? I am not putting younger women down, I was there myself and I remember the older girls treating me like shit sometimes. You guys that have been dancing for 10 yrs or so prob. know what I am talking about.

Futhermore, I was a lot less sensual and seductive at 18 than I am now and guys love seduction. There is more to stripping than shaking your naked body around a little.

Wel, the girls I am thinking of certainly seem to treat this job more professionally than their younger counterparts. They are better at the conversation aspect (maybe because they are age-compatible with me) but have the best bodies in the club despite each having children in their teens. They drink little if at all and have avoided some of the other landmines that seem more acute in this business than in others. They have plenty of regulars who can count on them to pretty much be there the same times every week. All indications I have as well are that neither of them are "extras" girls either. I think they do exactly what the club allows ( which around here is plenty, possibly more than a lot of members might be willing to tolerate ) but do not owe their continued success to anything more than their looks, hard work, and professionalism.

I will be 33 this year and while I don't dance every week anymore I still make great money when I do work.

The secret to dancing into or past your 30's is to take GREAT care of both your mind and body.

I don't know of any specific clubs that cater to over 30 dancers but some clubs have shifts that attract the super young customers and I do suggest those shifts to be avoided. Many clubs are better for older dancer during the earrlier shifts as well. This is because those shifts tend to attract the business suit crowd rather than the college crowd.

Also you will want to wear costumes that are less trendy styles and focus more on what looks good on you personally. Same thing with music choices.

There is plenty of money out there for an over 30 dancer if you know when, how and who to hustle.

That is such a good point. The younger girls seem to see this more as "quick easy cash" or a "cool" thing to do, where the older girls tend to take it more seriously. I know that when I was younger all the girls seemed to take the whole thing more seriously in every aspect - their clothes, shoes, makeup, hair, workouts, nails, etc. We did it not only because we wanted, but because the clubs demanded it.

As the years have gone by I see more and more girls strolling into the club looking like they literally just rolled out of bed and threw on whatever was lying around, barely brushing their hair and wearing ratty nails and clothes. And guys are supposed to pay high dollar for that?? We would NEVER have been allowed to even walk in the door looking like that years ago (at least in the places I worked), much less get up on stage!

So it's not just that the women my age or older have more experience, more conversation skills, etc. It's also largely that we tend to look the part more. I mean, come on, there's NO reason a 20yo girl who's trying to make money on her looks should look less attractive than a 35-40yo, but I see it allllll the time. I honestly see a lot more sloppy, skanky, ratty-looking 20yos than I see 30+yos who look "past it". And it is not because there are few 30+yos around - there are PLENTY of us, dancing circles around the younguns all night every night.

i've worked with ladies in the their late 30's , early 40's and they BANK. they don't look flawless, but they take care of themselves and i think men love an older woman, because of the whole "more experienced" thing. also that many years in the biz you have to pick up some awesome husslin' skills. hell if im still HOT by the time im that age hell yeah i'll pick some shifts up here and then to make some extra cash...

***edit - also to add that im 27...and getting up there myself. i don't think there's a limit to age in the business as long as you still look good and still are making money.

Actually alot of the "kids" love a hot older chic. I make alot of my money with the kids. And frankly, I (and plenty of the custies) think I look better than a helluva lot of the 20yos running around. No pot belly, stretch marks or ratty hair/nails/clothes here. That's a lot more than a LOT of the young chics can say, unfortunately.

Sorry to threadjack, but you said no pot belly......I must know the scecret to this. I am working like mad to get rid of mine. I do about 2 hours of cardio a day 3 hours if I feel the need to really test myself and push the limits. I work my abs every other day. I feel great muscles, but it's like I'm cursed with a pot belly and a couple other places that are just tough buggers to get rid of. Do you have any hints?

P.S. I think you are a TOTAL Goddess and I admire you for taking very good care of yourself. I want to be like you and my mom. My mom's 61 and looks like she's 30.

30+ dancers are the ones that bank off me the most. No doubt about it...

No offense to the early 20's dancers as there are many that are quite cute/pretty and charming...but as an almost 43 year old guy...I like the overall maturing (emotional/mental/physical) of a woman...Anything they MAY lose physically they can (and do) make up for with the non-physical things and general sexiness...IMO...

This is encouraging. I've been thinking about this off and on for a year now and one of my big worries was my age (3. I'm not heavy at all (5'3" and 117) but I'm kind of "soft"

I've been told I would tone up nicely if I started dancing - but I was still worried about how I would "sell"

Is there a thread here about older dancers and their breasts? how much sag is too much and does just the exercise of dancing help with that? what can one do to make that better?

Again, i don't think I have a BIG problem with it but it's enough to make me nervous about it.
