    Default Becoming a Corsetier

How exactly does one get into the business of making custom corsets for people? I loooooooooove corsets. I love everything about them - they way they shape your body, the curves, the fabrics, the way the laces look, even the way they feel, and making them. I've made a few of my own, and though they fit me well, I'm not skilled enough yet to take orders for people. I've been sewing for a while and I've always loved making clothing.

Aside from practicing more and starting my own business, is there another way to go? Like finding a good custom corset company and trying to get an apprenticeship/job there? Or are most corset companies really only like one person taking orders?

Ask Guenevere about how she got started; I don't know what kind of volume she does but she does beautiful work that is absolutely unbeatable at her price.
