Default DO you read entire threads?

I ask because many times answers and questions on many threads are given yet it's like people have no idea they are there. So do you?

Ive been on Sw for 4 years and now I find that a lot of things have been said and done before, so I skim a lo of posts and threads for that matter. There are a few topics where I will read every post and a few posters who I pay more attention to than others.
Also my age - because I have seen so many scenarios in life sometimes you just know that everythings going to work out ok for people and theres no need to butt in (-:
If I reply to something though I do try to check that Im not pointing out something which has been addressed before cos its annoying when people write something which is either irrelevant or no longer needs to be said, or has been repeated to the death! :-D

I skim nearly all of the posts. From time to time though I'm guilty of reading only the first couple of posts before replying. Usually though I end up looking like a moron when I do this, because what I wrote has already been said or the OP situation has changed, etc.

I always try to read the entire thread.

I feel its a bit foolish to blindly post without having gotten the entire story or all of the information given.

    Usually read the whole thing.

I often read from end to start though, I like to get my Hebrew on like that sometimes

Same here. There have been exceptions of course, but if I'm going to reply to a thread, I always want to make sure I don't look like a jackass repeating what someone else has already said. I definitely at least try.

It apparently does cause lately I see a lot of people answering or giving their 2 cents when someone else has said the same thing a few post above.

Nope. I try to save my reply for when I have time. I stick my foot in my mouth often enough for reading without comprehension, I don't need to add any more feet! Mah mouf ain't that big!

Yup, and it's a pet peeve of mine - so since I HATE being hypocritical if I can help it, I want to do everything I can to avoid doing the same thing myself.

I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, and perfectly nice people sometimes do it, so I try not to judge too much - it's just one of those irrational peeves nonetheless. I also know I've done it myself a few times, I'm human, but I really do try to be careful most of the time.

A total exception to this is the Random Thread. Do y'all agree? I mean, that's a thread where i do make the effort to catch up much of the time, but sometimes, honestly, especially if I've been away for awhile and there are like 15 new pages, I just jump in. That's kind of included in the mission statement of the thread, isn't it?

I almost always read the whole thing if I have time, and if not and its a good thread I'll go back later.

I do have to confess I have seen every single page of the "Im in Ur" thread :0

I just did it in this thread ha! Depends on the thread. If it somethings I need to pay attention to or is very entertaining then I read almost every post. If its the same 'ol then I skim lightly and post or not.

I skim through most posts, but I can't read really long threads unless they're verry interesting. I'm guilty of having a short attention span..

I'll generally read most of a thread - the exception being if it gets highly repetitive.

I do kind of wonder about repeating myself in different threads. The same subjects tend to come up on a regular basis, which leaves you the option of (a) not responding or (b) recycling the points from a earlier post.

On the limited occasions I post in the dancer related forums I'll (a) read all the posts and (b) hold off posting until I'm sure the point I want to make is not going to be made by a dancer.

Like some of the earlier posters, there are people whose posts I watch out for, and people whose posts I tend to avoid.

I typically read entire threads - Ill skip song of the longer posts but Ill read thru all the short ones.

The onlytime I dont read entire threads is ones like "The Random Thread" f that.

If the threads are really long like 3 or 4 pages or more, I read a few posts. I'm always so anxious to put my 2 cents in! If they're only 1-2 pages then yes I'll read all the responses.

I read all of them--as Rose White and a few others have said here, I'm worried about repeating things that have already been said, and often won't post if I can't think of something to contribute.

some people ALWAYS type super long posts and i dont read them. sorry, but if you have THAT much to say every single time no matter what the thread is about, i just really dont feel like reading it.

other times, i'll preface what im about to say with a warning that i didnt read the whole thread but heres what i have to say.. and whats wrong with that? if my opinion is the same as someone elses, and i dont know theyve posted it, so what? if i had read it chances are i'd quote it and say that i agree.

what does bother me though is when people post and things have been said already and they DONT say they havent read it all. or its a short thread. if its super long, thats one thing. but threads with only a few posts theres no excuse! i want to be like um.. duh.. i(or whoever) just said that.

what i REALLY hate is when its multiple threads. like we had 5 on the miss teen usa south carolina girl. theyre VERY recent and some are even still on the first page and people still make a new one? come on now.
