    Default Hair help

I searched and didn't really find what I was looking for. I am growing out my hair, and it's a few inches past shoulder length but it's layered and it's been layered forever. I want my hair to be at least mid-back and I don't want any more layers. Should I cut my hair up to the next longest layer or just let it all grow out then cut the layers off? Oh, and does that mane and tail shampoo make your hair grow faster? I already take the vitamins and crap, I'm just impatient. This is what I eventually want it to look like..

Nice style! I am using sooo many different shampoos and conditioners it's not funny. I use Mane & Tail and love them. My hair is growing out great, but this is NOT due to shampoo. I take a prenatal (not alot) and a mult-vit.

Everyones hair grows different. If you limit styling your hair, it will be healthy. Best thing. Wash and let air dry, don't brush or comb often.

It will take off. Mine has already after being butchered, and it feels good.

Thanks for the advice! I'm just taking the hair, skin and nails vitamins.. maybe I should pick up some prenatal vitamins too? I remember my hair grew ridiculously fast when I was pregnant and taking them. I very rarely heat style my hair since I'm growing it out but I do have to put it up a lot for clinicals for school, are rubberbands damaging it? It seems healthy and I don't really have a split ends problem but I am worried about having it pulled back with a tight rubberband the majority of the time.

Go to this forum it will teach you all about caring for your hair, keeping it healthy, and growing it faster. http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/index.php

Wearing your hair up is very healthy for your hair, but not with rubber bands. Use hair clips or braid your hair.

You only need to take one or the other: hair skin, and nails vitamins, OR prenatal vitamins. Otherwise your buying more than you need for the same exact effect. I would recommend prenatals over the other vitamin because you get other health benefits as well.

Either cut off to the next layer, or get regular trims every 6-8 weeks, just 1/4-1/2 inch depending on how quickly your hair grows. Altough you're growing your hair out, if you don't trim regularly split ends will continue up the shaft causing your hair to always look straggly.

No shampoo will make your hair grow faster. I do reccomend investing in good, professional quality haircare products, especially if you heat style your hair.

    Good luck!

Special shampoos and supplements may give you healthier hair, but it will generally still grow at its own pace.. usually a half inch or so every month.

Man that Mileys voice is like nails on a chalkboard... but I like her hair.

Ive heard good things about Redken CAT treatment. It makes your hair stronger so it doesnt break off. That, good products and trims like Mia said and you should be ok.
