    Default Motivate me!

I need help! I have been working out and I lost 5 lbs ( yay!) But then I lost my motivation and I have stopped losing weight and stopped going to the gym. (boo)
I really really wanna lose these last lbs and get back into my size 3's!

I haven't been doing my cardio every day like I'm supposed to and my diet is going back to hell slowly.

To top it off, I'm sick and had to calcel my training sessions all this week, and I'm scared I'm gonna gain back my weight I lost. But I can't work out..I'm to dizzy and congensted and the trainer pushes me hard and i think if I tried to work out I would pass out. I have a sinus infection.

Anyway...please help me get back with the program and get back on the right track! I need to get that ticker moving in the right direction.

ps..anyoen have any good brown rice recipes? I made a fried rice using brown rice and made it healthier and it was very tasty .Just lke a chinese restraunt, but I can't find any other good recipes. Thanks!

Picture how great you will feel when you reach your goal!

I visualise myself looking how I did a year ago, how much money I made, how happy I was. Then its easier to resist.

I wouldnt work out if you are sick.

I ALSO wouldnt give in to to comfort eating. Just eat loads of fruit and veg, for the vitamins, to help you get better, plus theyll mean theres no room for bad foods :-)
Theres no sense crying over every mistake,
you just keep on trying till you run out of cake

You need to motivate yourself- others, though well-meaning, can't make you want to work for your goals- only you can do that. I can, however, tell you a little about what motivates me. I tend to work best with strong negative motivations alongside any positive ones. If there is something I really do not want (for example if I've gained a little weight and am feeling really uncomfortable in my body and my clothes), that will motivate me to work much harder than simply reaching for something I may want, but only as an extra (for example, wanting to buy something new, or thinking that it would be nice to have tighter abs). Likewise with study- I push myself at uni primarily out of fear of failure or falling behind rather than positive desire to excel (though I do have that desire too, it's just not the thing that really makes me hit the books in a frenzy). You need to work out your own psychology and play on that.

EDIT- As long as you are this sick, though, it's not really feasible for you to train. I'd advise that, once you start feeling better, you should set yourself small exercise targets and ease yourself back into working out that way. Start with walking or yoga, if you've lost a lot of fitness during your time off, and build from there. A little gentle exercise every day can quickly be built up to impressive feats of athleticism. I'm living proof. I went from completely sedentary, to taking short walks, to taking long walks, to taking short jogs, then long ones, and now I run as well as jog. I can jog/run for over an hour on a good day, and I never do less than half an hour even on a bad one. I do a jog most days, now, and also do boxing plus resistance work four times a week, except during those weeks where my gym is closed for public holidays (and then I check out aqua aerobics and deep water running classes at a pool instead). I've never felt stronger or more capable and I've never been more toned. All this began with a daily, gentle routine of short walks (and, true to form, my motivation was fear of becoming a type two diabetic like my father and his mother- I was sure I was headed there). If that's where you need to start, then start there. The important thing is to start somewhere, and to actually START. Building up can only come after you've actually begun.

if you have a sinus infection, dont work out. period. the short time youre out isnt going to make a difference big enough to notice, any more than starting to work out and expecting results in that same short time would matter, you know?

dont buy new clothes. thats what works for me. buying a size up is admitting defeat.

When motivation fails, you have to rely on discipline. My boss told me that once. So we're basically fucked, Kaylinn. Hehe.

Seriously though, take it easy while you are sick and drink lots of soup!! Soup is good for you and can easily be made healthy. Try some miso soup. Although I know you don't eat meat, can you drink chicken broth? It has lipids that can speed up the healing process.

I swear, walking is the best exercise. It's not hard on your joints like running but it still burns more calories than the elliptical if you walk at a good pace, and it burns a ton of calories because the muscles in your legs are the largest muscles in your body. If you take dash on a walk when you get up every morning I guarantee you will lose weight. Plus he will like it because dogs have a strong instinct to migrate. I always walk farther when I listen to my ipod.

^ That's all the exercise I get these days. We go to the park every day and walk around the lake for an hour.
it's good for both of us...but it isn' enough for me. I need to strenght train and I need higher intensity cardio. Luckily, Dash is a quick little shit that loves to run, but I can't run very much without getting winded. I suppose if I keep at it I will get better.
