Anyone have any good suggestions on things to do in/around London?
I've been there once, did some of the typical touristy stuff (Tower of London, etc). Camden Town was my favorite part of the city.
Cheers!

Camden is fantasic, great night out too!
Highgate cemetary is fab very very pretty and a lot og the Hammer Horror films were filmed there.
There is also Hyde Park which is huge and so nice to sit down, relax and get away from the madness of the city for a couple hours.
One of my fave things to do in London when its nice is hang round Convent Garden, some great shops and street entertainers![]()

Ooh, and I'm staying at the Tower Thistle (or Guoman?) near the Tower of London so if anyone has any specific restaurant/bar/whatever suggestions in that area for the nights after work where I won't want to range far that would be great!

hehehe I just found this on Wiki, list of words having different meanings in British English and American English:

if you're the adventurous kind, go for a drive in the country-you'll see your life flash before your eyes more than once
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

There's more than enough to do in London if you want if.
As you're a musician, you'll find plenty of pubs putting on bands. The Robert Peel is not exactly in London, but easily reachable on the train. Has bands on several nights a week, and dancers in a bar at the other end.

Also try the World's End in Camden for bands.
Plenty of museums, some large and well known, some smaller and less known. I'd try Exhibition Road - it's got a fair few museums down it.

If you fancy going outside of London, get a train down to Portsmouth and go to the historic dockyard there. You can see three unique ships.
* The Mary Rose - a warship from Henry VIII's time.
* HMS Victory - the only first rate ship of the line left and Nelson's flagship at the battle of Trafalgar
* HMS Warrior - the first iron clad warship in the world.
Finding stuff to do in London is not going to be a problem.
Phil.
Go to the strip clubs!
