Default Can I Audition at a more upscale club???

I have not yet began dancing because I am still planning things out (i.e. outfit, shoes, hair, clubs). I want to shoot for a more up scale club but I am unsure about how made up I would have to be for an audition. Meaning, what looks can get you a position at an upscale club?

Do I need a lot of makeup, big hair, fake eyelashes etc.? Is my body type even appropriate? I am 5'7", dark long straight hair, B-Cups, 34-26-38, 125 lbs., tan smooth skin. Am I too small chested? Would I need to get highlights or a perm?

I am more natural than glamorous and I need tips on looking more finished and polished up. At least for the standards of dancing. I also look really exotic and feel that I may not appeal to those searching for a classic blonde old school hollywood look. I appreciate any advice on how I may go about finding a look at least for my audition. Thanks.

You'll be fine! Your bmi is 19.6, most models run about 19.2, so you are in very good shape.

Don't over complicate things with all the extra stuff like eye lashes. Go into the club a few times with friends and watch how the dancers move and how they are dressed. Then go home, practice and then get someone (boyfriend?) to be your "audience" and practice. Find an outfit or two and a pair of lucite (clear) heals so you can wear them with both outfits. Give it a week or so before you decide if you like dancing and want to invest in thinks like eye lashes and highlights.

Don't worry about looking glamorous, most upscale clubs look more for the pretty "girl next door" type with a good attitude.

If you aren't sure if you are ready, start at a smaller club and work up.

^ I agree. As Kylea said, many of the upscale clubs like you to look beautiful and natural, with a sexy girl next door vibe. I do think false eyelashes give you a great sexy boost, and they're pretty easy to apply once you get the hang of it. Try putting them on at least once before auditioning however!

The worst that can happen is that club "X" doesn't hire you, and then you can just try somewhere else---you will get a job as a dancer, so don't get discouraged.

    Best of luck!

The only thing that you need to remember is by going to a more upscale club, your competition will be some of the best.... the good strippers follow the money lol. But in a lot of the more upscale clubs in NY you're constantly running into things like people wanting extras etc.

I'm in Manhattan, and work at one of the more upscale clubs in the city, but I started out at a smaller club for the first couple of weeks before throwing myself into the larger club setting. It was easier for me b/c the smaller club's atmosphere was pretty straightforward, and while I made less money, I was able to get a feel for stripping with custies that were regulars of the club and not drunk of of towners.
