Default Go For It? Or Don't Jump The Gun?

I mentioned in the other thread of mine ("I Never Thought I'd Deal With This") that my club is closed, and the other club in town was supposedly off limits to me due to a security issue. I explained things to Boyfriend, saying that I wanted to check it out, and that if they did not watch their dancers like I had heard, that I would not take the job.

If Lena is running around here somewhere, I believe you danced at this club. Lady Godiva's/Excalibur in Morgantown, WV?

Well, He gave the go-ahead, and I was thinking about going out tonight, but I'm troubled by one thing.

My club is rumored to open on the 1st of February. It is one of two clubs in town. There is actually a third, but I would lick scum from the boots of New Yorkers than work at this place. It's well known for it's...services.

If my club DOES open on the 1st, I plan on going back there if the work is good. If I do that, I'm afraid that this club would bar me from working there again. It had barred several dancers from my club for merely working for their competitors. I'm not that well known in the area, so I doubt they know of me.

I'm trying to figure out if auditioning would be worth it. Advice?

One way to decide is how badly you need money RIGHT NOW? Plus, your old club is 'rumored' to be opening Feb. 1st. That's not a sure thing... How long could you go without cash?

It would be unreasonable for them to expect all of the dancers to sit around not working until they finally get the club re-opened. I would go to the other club and audition. I guarantee you'll see familiar faces. Most people can't afford to take a month off work, and those dancers had to go somewhere.

Oh, it is the club I was thinking.

I loved that club. I would totally go work there. The stage money is good, especially on the weekends. The lapdances are watched in the mirrors. The CR's are private, but they have a panic button and they are right across from the dressing room, so it's not like they're isolated. The jacuzzi has a panic button, and the waitress will check on you, but it's outside and you're basically on your own. I never had a problem, but it might be beyond your comfort level. They've had plenty of stage-only girls, though, so it's not a big deal if you don't do dances.

Downers - You have to get there when Mel is there to get hired, and then he has a schedule, and it's one big headache. Also, they keep your room/dance money and pay it to you once a week at this meeting, which is kind of cozy and teamwork-ish, but also sucks cause you can't just have it then. It wasn't too too bad though, cause I almost always left with $1-200 in tips.

I think there's no stage fee and you pay out ten percent of tips.

    The extras club... Hummers?

No, actually. I danced at Hummers. Hummers is now closed, and will be opening (soon, I hope) named Legz Morgantown. I was talking about Fine Diamonds.

Called there about an hour ago. I'm auditioning Monday. Wanted to do it tonight but I couldn't, and tomorrow is not an option.

Oh, woops. Here I'd heard all these nasty rumors about Hummers. Guess it just goes to show that there are always rumors.

It has been a few years since I've been at LG, so my info is probably out of date. I can't imagine they're not getting good business tho, with Hummers closed.

Now I wanna come work there too. LOL

Hummers own, still a good friend of mine, is moving, and preferred not to run his business from afar. The guy who owns two other Legz club was looking to expand. Thus, Legz Morgantown was born. If anything, Hummers was squeaky clean. I loved it.

Thanks, Lena. You really made my night.

They should understand that it's not about being "unloyal" but hey you gotta make your money. I advise to take care of yourself, in whatever means necessary.

I guess you have already made your decision, but just to add in:

There was a club here that closed for a while, they were renovating and what have you. The rumours circulated that "By the first weekend of (Jan, Feb, Mar,...you get the picture) they would be open. It took nearly 8 months before they reopened.

Although it's a different situation you can't count on the rumours, if they are only that, to be true.
