    Default Sea Monster?

Figued i'd post this since Cloverfield just came out. It's pretty wild.

Here's another article that's pretty much the same information, but told in a different way.

And here's the audio file of the actual noise that was recorded with the background noise removed.

(It takes a second to get moving, so if you don't hear anything at first, stay tuned. It's WEIRD!)

“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, then are dreamt of in your philosophy” Maybe amend that to "heaven, earth, and the seas."

At any rate, it's pretty interesting. Thought i'd share.

"Cephalopods have no gas-filled sac, so they have no way to make that type of noise," he said. "Though you can never rule anything out completely, I doubt it."

Nevertheless he agrees that the sound is most likely to be biological in origin.
So it might NOT be a giant squid!

Whatever made that noise, they think it's bigger than a Blue Whale based on how big something would have to be to make a noise that 2 recording devices 5000 miles apart would both tape the same sound!

I think i'll stick to swimming in pools...

It is really kinda creepy when you think how big and deep the ocean is and what weird things could be down there. Things I'd rather not think about when I'm swimming in it.

Maybe it is the sound of the planet itself. That would be cool to discover the Earth has a voice.

It sounds a bit like noises recorded from deep space. It is a soothing sound.
