Default Master Cleanse aka The Lemonade diet

    hey--
so I haven't done this really. I start and then quit on my first night.
and then I've just been eating crap but drinking the lemonade.

I actually really like this stuff-- and I'm not super into spicy foods,
but the mixture of cayenne, lemonade, and maple syrup, though odd,
    is really good.

supposedly you're not supposed to have the pulp in it, but I dig the pulp.

    check out the success stories:

I've done it too, the whole 9, including the dreaded salt water flush. I really felt terrific afterwards, and had plenty of energy, even, by about the third or fourth day. The first couple were rough, though, I cannot tell a lie. But well worth it, in my experience! I did it twice altogether & I'd do it again (of course, not for quite a long time . . .)

Try using limes instead of lemons to mix it up occasionally! It's a nice change.

I did, around 8-10 pounds, but I wanted to really do a cleanse/fast as a way of kicking off healthier eating overall. I think it's important to not look at this as just a crash diet. The results will be very temporary if you do. You're cleansing your liver, detoxing, and giving your entire digestive tract a break (makes you realize just how much energy normally goes into the digestive process - pretty amazing). Plus, emptying out your colon completely feels wonderful - I like colonics too, but doing it from inside-out was great since there are so many other benefits to it as well.

I was careful to make sure I was drinking enough of the "lemonade" to equal about 1,000 - 1,200 calories (which IS still very low), so that I wasn't wreaking total havoc on my metabolism, though the cayenne pepper helps boost that anyway. I'd always measure out my jugs of it the night before, like a ritual. Drinking it all the time really did ease my hunger after the initial days.

I also found it helpful to really ease back carefully into solids. Juices, then raw fruits and veggies and so on. I have a few gazpacho recipes that were ideal for the first few days after juices. One of the best things about this is that by the end, you are soooo craving healthy foods - salads and grilled veggies sound like decadent heaven.

That initial weight loss - a pound or two came back, which is to be expected. So some of it was water weight, but not all of it was. Well worth doing, in my opinion, but I honestly think to get any benefit you have to commit to the plan completely, including the senna tea and salt water flush.

I'm not quite willing to commit mentally to it. but I still like drinking the drinks throughout the day. I find them oddly tasty!

i tried it and stuck to it for 4 days. by the 4th day i was sick with a cold, i had pink eye (which they said could happen becuz of toxins leaving your body) and i COULD NOT do the salt water flushes anymore. i was soo sick and i felt like i was losing my mind! i had the biggest headache's, i couldn't sleep, i was sooo hungry. then i just started to think that most people gain the weight all back, it's really more for a CLEANSE then weight loss, yes you loose weight, but it's mostly water weight and you will gain it back in the coming month, it's only natural. if you're determined (like i thought i was) and have big time self control then go for it. but don't do it to lose weight, you will gain it back that's a guarantee, but it is an excellent, healthy way to cleanse your colon and liver.

there's also some "master cleanse" diaries on youtube.com

    GOOD LUCK!

The real worry is not that a lot of the weight loss might just be glycogen and water (and thus a waste of your time and effort), but that these sorts of diets (ie fasts and modified fasts) absolutely decimate muscle tissue, leaving you much worse off than when you began in terms of body fat percentage. It's also likely to slow your metabolic rate to starvation level unless you're very careful to keep your calorie intake above 1200 or so. If you must insist on doing a lemonade cleanse, at least limit it to no more than around three days. You'll really regret it if your muscle tone goes. Really, you're much better off becoming active and eating moderately.
