    Default People with disabilities [rant]

So I was a "custie" at a difference club in town just to check it out and I chatted with a few guys just to get a feel for the crowd. The guys next to me were celebrating a buddy's birthday. A guy went up for a dance. He had some condition where his left arm was much shorter and his hand was small. Everything else about him was normal. The girl took him up and when in the private dance area, she noticed his arm and got freaked out and refused to dance for him. The guy was really upset emotionally.

I was so appalled by this!!!! I mean, the guys we dance for are not our boyfriends. We really need to accept these guys as they are as they as they are not rude, poor hygiene, too grabby, ect. I can't imagine rejecting a guy because he has a physical disability.

Um...yeah. That is some bullshit. I can't believe someone would do that. And to drag him all the way to the dance area and then reject him? I don't understand how someone could be so cruel. I hope he complained to management. This is mean, but maybe she'll get in a car accident, mess up her face, and wish someone would want a dance from her.

If someone has money to spend and happens to fancy me I don't care if they're mentally retarded, ugly, morbidly obese, or have just come from an institution (i used to have a regular who was a little "off" and was always escorted by his caretaker.)

This makes me so mad. Aren't strip clubs supposed to be a win-win? Any old dude with money can come in and have any girl he wants while the girl enjoys getting paid. It works out for both parties. That's how it's supposed to work.

WOW...what a BITCH!!! The one and only time I've ever had a problem dancing for someone due to a disability is this one customer who happened to be mentally off somewhat---he wanted alot of dances, and while I did need the money- no way did I want to be responsible for taking advantage of him in any way, shape, or form. It's a good thing because he found a girl there that he really liked, ended up becoming her regular--giving her crazy money, taking her on all of these shopping sprees ...coming in every night. Come to find out he shared the same name as his father and the credit card he'd been using happened to belong to him. The guy was livid with the club and decided to sue.

That is horrible. Really gross...Which club was it? (heh, sorry...fax?? Some of the girls who work there are notoriously MEAN and entitled acting...I had a similar bad experience when I went there as a customer, so I never danced there).

I would have been tempted to slap her...Like, that is just not what you do in society. That's like refusing to dance for a black guy. It's NOT okay. That poor guy.

I think I remember dancing for a guy with no arms before. Obviously it wasn't a big deal because it doesn't stick out in my memory. All I remember is going to grab his hand to take him back to the private dance area, and it (the hand) not being there. I was actually kinda happy because I knew he wouldn't be grabby.
Gosh, so many strippers are so spoiled. I guess we get too used to the idea that everyone should look perfect.

Wow. Seriously. It just goes to show how cruel society is. It's probably hard enough for him to get a date and now he has to worry about a dancer, someone he HAS to pay for attention, rejecting him?? I've danced for full blown parapalegics (sp?) before, yea it was a bit awkward and everyone stared, but it made me feel good to give them attention. Ya know?!

What a bitch! I've danced for guys missing limbs, mentally challenged, in wheelchairs...like someone else said..isnt that the POINT of strip clubs?? It doesnt matter what you look like or what car you drive as long as you are nice and spending money??

Honeslty? I'd have walked over and given him a free dance right the fuck in front of her JUST to point out what a bitch she was being.

But I'm a bitch too. Only I'm only a true bitch when it's deserved.

That's so mean. I can't believe she would do that. She should have hidden her surprise and gone on with business as usual. That's not only mean, it's unprofessional.

We've had handicapped people come in (mostly slow, in wheelchairs) and girls will IGNORE them. It's so irritating to me because those are the people who are usually the most appreciative, generous and nice customers. I remember one of them look me in the eyes and said "You are so pretty". And it meant more to me than if someone else had said it because I knew he REALLY meant it.

Some girls are just such jerks.

One of my semi-regs was paralyzed from the waist down, and his arms were useless except to swing around. I use to have to give him his shots and hold his beer bottle. (But boy was he loaded. He would tip you six dollars each time you came to him if you played hip-hop.) Dancing for him was odd, admittedly, because his muscles in his legs had atrophied to the point where he was all bones. The only thing I asked before dancing for him was if there was anything I shouldn't put pressure on.

I used to have one reg custie in a wheelchair..I'm not sure what he had, but his hands didnt work quite right either. It took him awhile to pick anything up or move his hands(he was mentally razor sharp though).
The first time I danced for him, I was in his lap facing away and felt one hand sneaking underneath me. I jumped up thinking he was being creepy and trying to put his hand places it didnt belong.
He explained that he was just moving me over slightly so I didnt bump into the stick shift that moved the wheelchair. Apparently one girl sat back right on it once and however it moved the shifter, the wheelchair started spinning around in a circle so fast she couldnt even get up..just held on for dear life until he managed to work his hand in and shut it off....at which point she went flying off it face first!!

He felt so bad that now he makes sure his arm is there so nobody bumps into it again and gets hurt!

He was a REALLY good reg for a long time...I actually miss him.......

I make a point to approach all the people in wheelchairs, they were some of the best spenders I've met.. believe it or not. They buy bottles, get dances and champagne rooms like nobody's business sometimes.

That's fucked up. And, not to be crude, but money is money and that's all I'm worried about at work. If there's something wrong with a guy's money, I'm prejudice, but if it's something wrong with his body, who cares?

Although, I did dance for this one guy who got mad because he thought I was making fun of his prosthetic arm. I didn't even notice it was fake until he brought it up! So yeah, I lost $40 there. Oh well.

Sorry to t/j but what made him think you were making fun of him?! Just curious!

We were in VIP, and I was running my hands over his chest and shoulders during a dance. I run my right hand down his shoulder to what would have been his bicep and he looked down and started screaming. "Why are you trying to touch me when you know I can't feel it?! You think I'm a freak! A FREAK!!!" That's a direct quote. He was just freaking out over nothing, I'm pretty sure he was just very self-conscious about it or something.

It was funny, but I held in my laughter til I got to the dressing room. He was in no condition to be laughed at by a naked woman. Poor guy.

You're right about which club it was. I don't know which girl it was. The guys there for the dude's birthday were getting a lot of dances and I never saw which girl took him up. It's probably a good thing I didn't because I would have confronted her.

That is exactly how I see it and one reason why I feel "good" about my job is that I give men the pleasure of having a beautiful woman to talk to and sit on their lap who otherwise would not get to experience such a thing. And you have to admit, it's a beautiful thing!

And I'm not trying to sound conceited with the above statement. I mean it for me and all strippers.

I have to add my vote to the "guys with disabilities are some of the best customers"- I have some scars on my stomach from neonatal surgery, and these guys FLOCK to me...And they're always such sweethearts! (well, almost always. There's always the exception to prove the rule.)

Yeah that girl is a bitch! WTF is her problem? I just cannot understand people like that...maybe it's because I've always been so nice and openminded with disabled people, considering that my brother is mentally disabled. I've danced or fed shots to guys with disabilities before. I danced for a few guys that were slightly mentally disabled, and a few guys that were wheelchair bound, and I even fed shots to a guy that was blind before. I was very nice to ALL of them. I found that the handicapped customers were VERY sweet people, and some of them were very good spenders too...one of them became a semi regular of mine for a period of time and we spent a lot of time together in the couchroom! I think they like being adored and treated like normal people...which is EXACTLY what I do, because hey -- they deserve to be treated like anyone else.

The only time that I had a problem with disabled customers, occured when this one asshole friend of a slightly mentally disabled guy refused to let his friend pay me for the second lapdance I gave him. Basically I took the dickhead's partly mentally disabled friend for a dance, did the first dance, asked him if he'd like a 2nd, and he said yes...so I gave him a second. The slightly disabled guy was nice, polite, and was willing to pay for the second dance with credit card/funny money...until the dickhead friend stepped in and claimed that I'd "taken advantage" of his friend and that his friend was "soooooo retarded". Well if his friend was that handicapped, then why didn't he keep a close eye on his friend when he was getting the dance? WTF? And I didn't think the guy looked THAT severely handicapped...I'm not ignorant to mentally disabled people, considering that my own brother is mentally handicapped. I think the dickhead was just trying to get out of having either of them pay for the extra dance. But nonetheless, my problem was with the situation and not getting paid...NOT the handicapped customer himself.

I agree! Like I mentioned before...one of the handicapped guys that I encountered at my old club was a great spender, very intelligent, a great conversationalist, and became a semi regular of mine for a few months.

I wonder if perhaps some of them spend a lot of money at clubs because if they run across the right dancer, she will make him feel as worthy as Brad Pitt...which is probably uncommon for them in today's judgmental, staring world. So perhaps that makes them more willing to spend money in VIP, since it means getting quality "normal" treatment from smoking hot naked women.

It makes me feel a little sad though that some handicapped people are treated a little differently than "normal" folks by others. That's why I always make sure that I treat all sorts of people(even mentally retarded people) like equals, and I make sure that I use tact when I talk, and I make sure that I don't talk "down" to them, since people want to be treated like equals.

I don't understand why some girls feel they are good enough that a guy who isn't Brad Pitt isn't worth the time, regardless of the amount of money being offerred for her company.

    That's not cool.
I remember one day coming into work, and there were two guys in wheelchairs (Both were severly disabled, parapalegic) by the main stage. I had been there for a while when I noticed not a single girl had come and offered them a dance, or even paid any attention to them at all. I asked one of my work buddies if she had noticed the same thing, and she said yeah, that's bullshit, lets go over there! Well we went over there and ended up BANKING. They were really nice and had lots of money to spend. In the end they thanked us for being the only girls that showed interest in them and how much they appreciated our company and our dances.

Wow, what a stupid bitch. I just act completely normal around people with disabilities like I would anyone else. I remember giving a dance to this one older man who I believe had some sort of mental disorder, but he was soo adorable and really loved my dance so that made me happy.
