    Default Your favoite cologne?

I’m very picky about what cologne I wear, which I don’t wear every day. Although I have not tested every cologne of course, I do stop by places like Sophora that has an extensive collection of men’s colognes. When the GF and I go into Sophora, she goes looking at makeup and I go cologne hunting…I don’t generally like anything “fruity” or “musky.” I like the more (to my taste) sophisticated colognes that don’t over power. My personal favorites right now are:

Vera Wang for men (my favorite right now)
    Michael for me
    Lagerfeld
    Chanel Allure

And for the cheap stuff that’s not bad for a quick spray, I like Claiborne Sports.

Those are my favorites. What colognes do you gals recommend? Do you tend to get your guy what you think will smell good on him, or does he tend to have colognes he picked you think smell great? What should I try in addition to the above knowing my tastes from the listed brands above? What cologne makes you think some guy has great tastes in cologne so he can’t be all bad?

There was a really long thread on this in Customer Convo awhile ago. I love Marc Jacobs for Men over any other scent for men.

Can't recall that one, so I will give it a wiff next time I am in Sophora. Is that the one with an all black bottle? If so, I recall I liked that one also.

I used to really liked Micheal Kors for men... it's very different, and very masculine IMO. Some of the key notes are patchouli (which I'm typically not a fan of, but they use it sparingly and well in that fragrance), leather, and cigars. It's the kind of scent you need to let "warm" on you. When you first spray it on, it's a little too intense, but after about 20 minutes, it's a whole different animal.

That's why it's on my list above and sitting on the dresser now. Good stuff, I agree.

^^^ When I saw "Micheal for me" I was thinking that awful Micheal Jordan fragrance! I was like, "I'm gonna have to have a talk with Will about sophistication!"

Ahhhh, gotta love my duh moments... lol

TM's Angel for men beats out everything else. Every man should just throw everything away and just keep that. I tell every guy I know to get it because it's just that good.

No, actually it's in a rectangular, clear bottle with a dark black top. White box, black lettering. They make it as cologne, aftershave and a skin cream.

It's not well-known, so it gets a lot of attention because it's rare that a variation on a floral scent actually works on men. One guy wrote in a review, "if self-confidence had a scent, it would smell like this."

It relatively inexpensive as colognes go -- I think around $85 for the cologne, although I never really know the exact price because I'm usually picking up a bunch of Clarin's for Men products at the same time, or flirting shamelessly with the makeup girls at Bloomingdale's. They tell stories about me to each other, which I am, of course, the last to hear about.

Oh, and yes, I know, it's the counter girls' version of SS. They are not even in the same universe of skill as the greenest newbie dancer.

I will keep an eye out for that next time I am in Sophora.

I am looking for Lady Jade's"fresh baked cookies for Men". I hear it is a "to die for" fragrance available in New Jersey.

    Hugo Boss, the original.

I had a bf when I was 18, and I bought this just so I could sniff it and get completely wet and fantasize about him again. Then I gave it to my current boyfriend so it could remind me of HIM, but I find myself thinking about the ex sometimes still. Either way it gets me H-O-T-T.

Blech. I hate Curve, it smells like powder.

I bought K some Cool Water Deep awhile back and I love when he wears it. It's light and sexy, not musky or cologne-smelling at all. It just smells manly and pleasant, and a tad more masculine than regular Cool Water. Very hot, to me anyway!
