    Default What Do You Say?

I know it has happened to all of us, but how do you handle this situation tactfully?

Wednesday night I worked and a guy that I was just chatting with before my stage set said "Don't think you are going to make any money off of me because you won't...I don't buy dances or tip." Now, normally I would joke around a bit and make my exit, but when I went to excuse myself to go do my stage he got really and unusually pissy and said "I KNEW you would leave, all you want is MONEY.".

I was really irritated and now I am wondering how others handle this kind of scenario. I want to be classy about it, but part of me wants to scream at them and tell him to go to a sports bar then. Ideas and thoughts?

    TIA!

So he just wants to guilt trip you about doing your job and kind of expect you to be apologetic about it, "Oh no, I'm not just in it for the money, I really like your personality!" You could tell him that all the wants is to see naked women, so therefore, it's a match. And he should pay. What does he expect, to tell you he won't tip or spend at all, and expect you to sit and conversate all night? I would warn the other dancers too, so nobody gives him the time of day either. These men are scum and really irritate the shit out of me.

Freaking unbelievable. I had a guy the other night say that too me, "all you want is my money." I was screaming inside. I mean, of course I want your money! I want everybody's money. Why the hell else would I be in here?!

I think it's classy enough to just stand up and politely say, "well, all you want is my company for free, and unfortunately for you there are gentleman here who are ready to pay for it, so I better get back to work."
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily

When I get this, I generally laugh and say something like, "Well, of course I want money, I'm at work!" Why do THEY go to work? Der. Those are the guys who need to be smacked upside the head.

I have a standard line I now give most guys who pull this crap. Works pretty well for me:

" Well, I'm at WORK so obviously money is a factor, but I could make money anywhere. I do this because I enjoy meeting fun and interesting new people. Now if you'll excuse me..I'm going to go find one."

A bit bitchy..but hey...they started it and I do love a good exit line!
