    Default LA Clubs - Scheduling

Hello everyone! This is my first post, but I will admit I've been lurking on here for a year, dancing for two.

My question is: I very recently moved to Los Angeles, specifically Sherman Oaks. I'm trying to find a club within about a 30 mile radius that does not require you to be on a schedule. I'm not at all picky about the type of club, unless there's a high likelihood that I'll get shot in the parking lot... I'd prefer to avoid that. I've done a lot of calling, but know that what a manager will say on the phone and what the reality is once you're working is often different.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!

Sherman Oaks is in L.A. County, it's in the Valley.

Most clubs in L.A. don't require a schedule. The money in L.A. is in fully-nude contact clubs, and they'll let you show up whenever you want. Some of them will ask you to make a schedule, but I've never stuck to it and no one's ever complained. Try the big clubs in Van Nuys first since they're closer to you.

Good luck to you, because you'll need it. Stripping in L.A. sucks ass.

Thanks Yekhefah! I've read many of your posts regarding your experiences in LA - I'm glad you were able to get out of here so you could be happier! I'm prepared for the worst, so if it's only marginally horrible I should be ok mentally.

No worries. I've worked at way too many of the clubs in L.A. County, LOL! So PM me if you have questions about a particular place. I have limited experience with the Valley though; I've worked a few clubs there but I never did well. I did better downtown for some reason, and in Hollywood.

Deja Vu- North Hollywood, Spearmint Rhino-Van Nuys, and Rouge-Van Nuys are the clubs I'd suggest for the Valley for money potential, although Deja Vu has schedules....perhaps there is a way you can work around that if you are (or say you are) a student. Good luck!

Thank you london! I checked out Rouge in Van Nuys tonight. Everyone was very friendly and it was similar to the club I came from. Seems like a good place to start! I appreciate your taking the time to help. Now if you know any restaurants with a great cheese plate and wine selection, that's my second pursuit.

For wine, you might like Vitello's in the Studio City/Toluca Lake area of the Valley. It is an Italian restaurant and has a cozy, understated elegance. Not sure about its cheese, but there is also a restaurant called Il Tiramisu in Studio City/Sherman Oaks right on Ventura Blvd which may have exactly what you are looking for, although it is considerably smaller and a bit less 'cozy', but is definitely upmarket. Glad I could help. Good luck with the Valley clubs!

Cobras y Matadores! There's one in WeHo and another over in East Hollywood, near Los Feliz. You buy your wine from the wine shop next door (pick out a nice Spanish red) and then kick back for traditional amazing Spanish tapas. Send the chef a glass of your wine and he'll outdo himself, send him a couple glasses and sometimes he'll come up with something original off the top of his head just for you. There's an amazing fruit and cheese plate but everything on the menu is incredible. It's a bit expensive but it's good for a night out with friends. We went every year on K's birthday.
