no advice for how to do it, but that is a hot updo!!! i wish my hair was long enough for that.
You'll have to tease it A LOT. Lord I loved her. RIP Vicki Lynn.

It almost looks like it might be held up with a butterfly type clip or something.
I wish I knew too..
but she might have some clip ons in there, plus extra teasing, etc..
Its way thick.

Stick your finger in socket. j/k. It probably has tons of hidden bobby pins throughout it invisibly anchoring it. I love messy updos like that, that look like you just swept it up thoughtlessly in a sec, unfortunately the ones that look the most effortless always seem to take the most effort!
It also might be a hairpiece..
It looks like some kind of clip or french twisty thing with really long ends sticking out. And ya, teasing and bobby pins.
I really like the way she looks in that pic.
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily

definitely not done by herself in front of a mirror. that's professional. a few clips, a bunch of bobby pins and alot of product, teasing and heat.
it's like how playboy photo shoots are done or porn shoots... they have the best hair and makeup artists around... oh if i could only have one of them on call...

When you find out, let me know... I SUCK at updos.

That is a beautiful updo. Wish I knew, too, haha...

^^^It totally looks like sexy bedhead!
Totally a piece. They make these foam things covered with hair to help get lotsa height w/o so much teasing. I don't remember what they are called tho.
I've done hair for many years. So what I suggest is to take your own hair and make a small low part on the side in the front. Comb both sides towards the back and up. Sort of a side swept look leaving out various long peices for the "bed head" look. Spray with a light hair spray for hold. You can either put your hair in a high ponytail or secure it into a type of tight french bun with bobby pins. Attach a full mid length piece to your pony/bun and tease to the max. Blend your hair with the piece and spray with hairspray (depending on the type of hold you want). For the bangs and the long pieces draping down the sides you could apply any light product for that "piecey" look. Just make sure you seperate and blend for the overall softness that you're going for. Hope this helps.

Something like this:
Just let a few of your strands out as well??![]()
It is sexy,
I have tried and failed at this but love it.
Is it just me or do her boobs look really lumpy in this pic?
Ive wondered how they do that hairstyle for years I love it and I love her.
You can do a loose ponytail, then clip the top to the hair right above the tail on your scalp. Tease, then pull down randon pieces around your face.
My fave way to get this look is by pulling hair back into a ponytail with hands, then twist tight. Take bobby pins or a couple of alligator clips or stiks and secure to head at crown (several inches up the twist). Tease top, pull strands down around face.
This messy updo is REALLY easy. I used to do this pretty often. If you have a lot of hair teasing should be very minimal. If your hair is fine or thin it will be a lot of work and you may need a hairpiece.
I used to do a lot of the girls hair and makeup at work. I swear this isn't that hard and doesn't have to be done with a clip in piece.
