finally happened. after being taken down for awhile by pneumonia and the stupid cold weather of colorado, i finally got back on my feet and managed an audition at bustop. turns out i was talking to the wrong manager the entire time. i had no idea that the guy who periodically said things like "so? when is the audition?" was actually a manager too. i thought he was just a bartender! anyway, so yeah.
first of all, the good stuff: it was super wicked fun. like it was really really fun. a couple of the dancers who work there who are buddies of mine all came up and sat at the stage and it was funny. made some money too, which was rad, and afterward most everyone was expecting me to be hired. the other dancers, the dj, and so forth.
ha.
but that did not happen, which was fine since i did not entirely expect to get hired there. by this point it was more important to me that i actually went ahead and did it. it was pretty rad though, cause apparently a dancer or two went in and actually tried to change the head manager's mind or something when we found out? which i was not expecting. also asked the cool manager guy about why not and he said it was basically because right now i am a little too clumsy, and a little too in my own head when i am stage, but that once i get it down more i should come back.
which was nice to hear.
uhhh. i also i had no idea that the stage was so slippery. seriously, i was holding on to the pole at one point and slipped and just kinda spun around it and could not stop spinning until i got to the ground. though i did manage to land gracefully. did some other not-clumsy things which elicited compliments from some of the other dancers and yeah.
mostly i am still in "omg that was so much fun" mode.
well.
that and "omg my body is so stiff and sore" mode.
but yanno.
so time to get in some practice in the basement and then audition elsewhere i think, right?
