Default I learned an important lesson about driving to clubs in LA, CA

...I will never, EVER drive to work a night shift ever again during a massive storm!

OMG! I did it three times this week. There is suck a lack of street lights along the 405 and 118! It is so hard to see! Plus, I need glasses sometimes. I swerved, I hydroplaned many times! There were accidents everywhere.

Somehow, the $$$ wasn't that bad...but not worth the stress and fear I put up with.

The third night, I didn't go home. A bartender (female) at the club I used to work at, offered me her couch and we didn't have to take a freeway. I was going to get a hotel, so I called my old club before they closed to get suggestions on where to stay where I wouldn't get robbed, raped or murdered. (Yeah, great hood). She just said to crash at her place. She gave me blankets, a pillow and warm clothes to sleep in. I totally owe her.

Also, I got new brakes last Monday. If I hadn't, I may not be writing now.

I am very thankful and learned a valuable lesson.

    I'm glad that you're okay!!

When I lived in SF and didn't drive, I never understood why nobody wanted to drive when it was raining. Now that I live out of The City and have an almost 2 hour drive to get to work, I get it.

Highway 101 in the North Bay Area is bad during rain, as well. I stopped taking it after the last rainstorms a few weeks ago. On my way home one night, I hit a huge puddle (more like a little creek!) right as a limo flew by me and drenched my whole truck and I went hydroplaning. It was terrifying!! On Friday night, I guess 101 was so bad that it was closed in a few parts.

Yeah, it's a scary thing. My tires are only about six months old, so that helped a bit too. But you never know who would be stupid enough to drink and then drive during a storm like that.

I used to live in SF also. Be careful with your commutes during the rainy season.

I was having the same issues. I take the 101 and the 405 to get to work, and it was a nightmare! I drive really slow in the rain, like 45 max on the freeway and it blew my mind that even tho I was in the slow lane, people still honnked, flashed their lights then went speeding aroud me.
