at my club we have lockers that become "ours". there are a limited number, but if you are there long enough, you wind up getting "your" locker. that means your lock stays on it and your things stay in it regardless of if you are there or not. you can decorate it and what-not and they put your name on it. i never had this at any other club, and it seems silly saying it, but you get kind of attached to it. i think it might secretly be a way of keeping girls, lol.
anyway, onto the point:
i'm thinking about putting an envelope inside of my locker that is for dollar bills only. said envelope will be spending money for things i want that are not necessary. the envelope will NOT come home with me (or else i will spend it early/mix it in with my bill money... i know it). if i get an unusually large amount of ones in a shift, i might tip out with some and put the rest into the envelope. if the evelope starts getting too bulky, i may change out some of the ones for bigger bills, but put them BACK in the envelope. the plan is, however, to not go home with any ones(unless ive traded them out to put bigger bills in). the only time i would go home with them would be when i've "cashed them out" because i've reached the goal for something i want.
IOW if i want a 60 dollar bottle of perfume, i have to wait till i have 60 accumulated ones in the envelope rather than just buy it randomly. if i want a bigger ticket item (say 300 dollars) same thing.. have to wait. i'm hoping this will motivate me toward trying to get more stage tips, and motive me towards separating my "extra" spending from my necessary spending.
has anyone else tried this? i *think* i read someone saying they do something similar before awhile back. does it work for you or do you always wind up "dipping into it"? if you don't have a locker of your own and you do something similar, how do you avoid not spending it prematurely?
