That's kind of how I picture it too. I don't have the budget or the organizational will to put on a rival Hooters Pageant. I get excited thinking about hanging out with cool girls who are interesting in stripping AND maintaining a relative healthy and sane life. (Then again, I like hanging out with my mom, too. )

Last year I went to a workshop on "Restoring Energy" at a yoga retreat I was attending. We were supposed to introduce ourselves and talk briefly about what was going on in our lives that pulled out energy down. I wanted to talk about my job, which was a major source of stress in my life at the time, but realized that I wasn't going to comfortable saying I was a stripper. Not that anybody would have thrown me out of the retreat, but I didn't want to get drawn into any conversations defending or explaining myself, the way you sometimes do with people who don't know anything about stripping. I wanted my job to be accepted and a non-issue.

I tend to agree...I suspect that the less "how-to-be-a-stripper" stuff you included, the fewer wannabee suburban mom types you'd attract. Although if I were putting this together in the Central Texas area, there'd probably be pole classes, just cause I know such an amazing, amazing teacher here. She also does meditation and massage...

Thanks for all the responses. The retreat, if it ever happens, is years away...totally in the planning phase still. But in the meantime, seems like there's plenty of interest here in ATX for a strippery/yoga/tea type thing. If any of you guys are interested, I'd be totally happy to teach a class gratis, just for the sake of getting together with you lovely ladies. PM me if interested!

Great idea, and here are my suggestions:

Get one/some of the features/former features that are fairly well-adujsted/into the mind-body balance thing to attend, give seminar/s; tell how they handled things personally. Someone who can relate to what we deal with on a daily basis, and can offer good ways to deal with our feelings and emotions in a healthy, spiritually sound way. Lots of discussion encouraged?

Massage therapy centered around areas of the body we use most (already been suggested)

    REIKI!!!!

Not necessarily diet foods being served, but healthy whole and organic.
Maybe a couple classes about eating this way, eating to support our specific body needs AND our cravings (organic chocolate, anyone??)

Even, dare I say, a seminar/session adressing our relationship with men as customers, and understanding/relating better? Lessening of resentment issues? Their view of us in a positive light? I dunno about this, but some variation on this theme, in a positive and peaceful way, might be good.

Some fun, like tarot readings, etc.

Some info on beneficial supplements, to go along with the healthy eating.

    Cellulite treatments!

    A few good book recs?

...and one night of stand-up comedy. That I would pay extra for!!

Keep us posted. If I ever come into a million dollars, I'd love to help. I'd love to help in any way that I can.

    Count me in!

Good suggestions! If we ever have a full-blown stripper retreat, you gotta come. For now, it looks like some of us are getting together for a yoga/tea date in March...other CenTex ladies, give me a shout if you wanna come.
