    Sad Sneaky, but Confident

Hello everyone. I would first like to say this site is awesome! I've gotten so many questions answered just by looking around. Now, I have a situation and some questions but I'll try to make it brief.

Basically I am a second year college student attending school in DC. I attend a big school with a very active campus. I have made up my mind that I'm going to start dancing because I've wanted to for some years now. I can't dance in DC because I'm somewhat popular on campus and know that sooner that later if I work in DC I'll run into some students from school. I'm the last to care about what people think but I'm a communications student and my reputation is my career. So I have devised this master scheme, but need to know if this plan is even possible. I want to travel to Baltimore, Maryland on the weekends to work. I would leave out early every friday after classes. (it would be the middle of the day and no-one would really see me.) Catch the bus to maryland, stay the weekend and dance, and come back to school sunday night. Good Idea or Bad?

    Questions:

lol. something I've always wondered about stage dancing....lets say you pole/stage dance and people throw money up on the stage during your set, after you dance do you just pick up the money and leave? do you get off the stage and pick up your money? does someone pick it up for you? lol silly question- just wondering. ;-)

Hi Serenity, I am a college student as well at a rather large university and I dance weekends at my club, which is about 30 minutes away from the school.

Have you checked out any possible clubs in Baltimore yet? Also, do you know anyone you would be staying with over the weekends, or would you have to get a room every Friday and Saturday night?

If anything, you could always try working in Baltimore for a couple weeks, and if it doesn't work, find another club, closer to your school.

As far as the stage set, it probably depends on the club/time of day. If you're working a weekend night, you'll more then likely be on stage with several other girls [although each club is different]. What I do on busy nights is pick up my money and put it in my garter after each song, before moving to the next spot on the runway. Some girls I've seen bring a purse and walk to the end of the runway each song to stuff the money in their purse. I've seen bouncers or waitresses pick up a girls money before if the runway is absolutely covered, but not very often.

If you are on stage alone [such as possibly during dayshift or on a side stage], you may be able to leave all the money spread out on the runway until you are finished with your entire stage set, rather then pick it up at each song.

    Hope this helps

Where do the girls keep their purses while on stage? Dumb question, I know, but I've never seen it. Blankets are another thing I've never seen on stage, so I'm learning all kinds of things tonight through reading lol.

At my club we have 1 main stage, and 2 side stages. There is only 1 girl on each stage at a time. All the stages back up to a wall that has a mirror on it; I just set my purse on the stage against the mirror usually in the middle so no one but me can get to it.

As far as dancing in Baltimore, I never have but I had a friend who lived there. She and her boyfriend would go to Scores, and they said it was an awesome place. Maybe check into that?

one of my gfs used to wear a wig for anonymity, but i don't hear good things about dancing in dc so that might be irrelevant...
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

^^I wear a wig, now that I'm dancing nearish my home. Helps a lot. I don't even look like me!

To the OP: a lot of girls do that. Hotel could get expensive and never, ever, ever leave anything, especially money, in the room that you aren't okay with loosing. I have a friend who lives in a hotel at the moment and she carrys all her money on her ankle, because she won't leave it at 'home'. Change it out to hundreds and hide it under your ones. And never let anyone know why you are in town.

Maybe when you find a good club you can find someone to crash with for the weekend? Again, be careful.

If Baltimore doesn't work out for you you can always come down to Richmond. We get a lot of girls from Northern Virginia down here.

I don't really think this plan is feasible without a car. Balto is not far. You could just go home after work. You can just hope on 95.

Where do you get your wigs Rose? and is it possible to wear a wig if you have really long hair?

From a mall store, north of Philly. Any sort of store that sells track hair and stuff for braids, etc will be your best best. Tends to be cheaper and have a better selection than wig stores for old white women. There's also a lot of website, but I like to try on my wigs, because I'm small, with a big head. Hehe.

My hair is long-ish. Just cut it a bit, but it's past my shoulders. I put it in a bun and the nape of my neck with hair pins, nice and flat, and pin back my bangs. Just used lots of hair pins!

That's what I was thinking. It's about 40 minutes to Baltimore; driving back and forth would be a lot easier, and would save you $$ b/c you wouldn't need a hotel room.

A lot of clubs in Baltimore require that you work one "slow" night per week though. At Scores it used to be you had to work either Sun, Mon or Tues, but I haven't been there in awhile so it might have changed. At Hustler you have to work a 4-10 shift on either Sun or Mon, or a noon-6 pm shift on Sat. Most clubs have a similar rule. So only working weekend nights isn't feasible, esp. when you're new. The good news about that is that these "slow" nights are actually good money most of the time...at least that's been my experience.

    Good luck!
