    Default All These Lush Threads...

I would LOVE to try a lush bath! But... well... maybe it's unusual... but I think baths are gross. It's probably because I live in an apartment but here is my issue:

Who the fuck knows how many people have taken baths in that tub?! They don't change the plugs! All the nasty WHATEVERS have been running by those bath plugs. I took some cleaner to my bathplug with a scrub brush and all of this gross black stuff came off! Does this make me a germaphobe? Even when I just lived at my parent's (house), I couldn't handle it. People stand in that thing and wash the dirt off of their naked bodies. I'd have to change the plug and scrub the thing to take a "relaxing" bath. Gah. I guess this is just a rant. I'm a bit buzzed.

It's n ot weird. It's why I dont take baths even though I LOVE them...my tub is really old and it was my father in laws bathroom when he was alive, so I just picture all the gross things I had to clean up in there at the end of his life.

I adore my Lush face cream and powder though! And I'll def. get Lush bath stuff whenever I move or have the money to get my bathroom redone.

I've never tried anything from Lush. I heard it's mostly bath stuff, but I am also too germaphobic to lie in a bathtub full of water. I only take showers so I only use bar soaps and body scrubs. I don't even use shower gels because of how the shower puffs harbor germs.

I generally dislike baths, but enjoy the Lush so much I do it anyway. I spend way too much money on baths for not liking them.

I always clean my tub, shower and all, super hard so I feel better about sitting in the tub. I have kind of the opposite problem though. I hate to think I'm sitting in a pile of Lysol. So I always make sure that someone takes a shower of at least run the shower for awhile before I take a bath.

Lush makes my skin itchy and to me the $1 ones at walmart are the same except with all the glitter and sparkles and crap.

Lush makes a lot of wonderful things that you can use in the shower, too.

But I LOVE baths. I'm not germophobic at all; I think our antiseptic culture is what's causing the proliferation of asthma and various diseases, because it's weakening our immune systems. I've always had a fairly healthy immune system (benefit of growing up white trash, LOL) and I've never considered germs in the bath. I'm like hardkandee, I'm always paranoid about bathing in bleach or cleanser so I have to shower out and rinse the tub first after I clean it.

I half grew up in the bath, sleeping in there and reading and spending half the day. It's where I'm happiest. A little gunk in the stopper isn't going to stop me from soaking my tired muscles.

You can always take a shower after your bath You can buy a new plug too. I didn't really enjoy baths until I started Lushing. And, IMO, the walmart shit doesn't even compare.

i am pissed off about the bathtub in my apartment, the idiot landlord PAINTED IT, and there is paint flaking and chipping away (it was made before the 30's so it's probably got lead) and it's soooooo gross. There's no plug at all, I can't wait to go down to pay my rent tomorrow with my check-in list of everythingn wrong with the place- hopefully he will lower my rent. I love baths and i'm pissed because the tub is un-bathable.

I'm lucky that i live in a new house and i was the first one to ever bathe in my tub. Honestly i've always taken baths though, i just cleaned the apartment tubs really good first.
IMO the only drawback to lush is the mess they make after, Its so hard to scrub anymore being so pregnant. After having my house cleaned professionally the tub looked so good and clean and sparkly i ALMOST didn't want to take a bath. But i compromised and used a white bomb so it didn't leave colors and glitter and flowers and stuff. When my husband got home and saw me in the tub he got this shocked look and his face and asked me "what, no lush???" haha

I say, any germs that are strong enough to withstand the temperatures that I make my baths are welcome in my system! I'm picturing these little bodybuilder bacteria managers patrolling through my body, increasing efficiency, scheduling training seminars, downsizing weaker bacteria. Heck yeah. Better internal corporate living through Lush.

    And pv....I toldja so!

I refused to take baths in the home I own. The bath tub freaked me the fuck out... seriously. I would try to clean it with EVERYTHING but there was still this dingy ring around the tub... probably from old age...it's the OG tub from 84!

I live with my bf now and his tub is porcelein so I can bleach it and it's sparkling white. I NEVER take a bath after that though. I always shower before my baths as well. I don't like the idea of sitting in my fllfth...no matter how pretty the water looks/smells.

Shower first with flying fox (I crave showers because of that bath gel) and then sit and relax.

I do long for the days when I have a tub like Phillyvixen again. I have bath tub envy, fyi.

I've never even thought about bathtub germs before. Certainly not from the people who lived in my apartment before me being left over two years after I moved into it. I'm pretty sure they've all died off by now and the remaining ones belong to me anyway.

I always take a shower first after I clean the tub to ensure that I'm not wallowing in any bleach products... germs are fine, but the clorox is what i don't want anywhere near my girlie parts.

You have an open invitation to come take a bath with me anytime
    Or just use my tub

God only knows what horrors my tub has seen before I lived in this apartment. But once I get the tub filled to the brim with hot water and smelling like Heaven, it's hard to care.

Although, to be honest, I do dream of a day when I can have one of those big, giant, deep-dish bathtubs that has feet. My tub is tiny and I can't put my legs underwater unless I'm sitting up (which leaves my torso in open air as well). But it's better than nothing.

Maybe I'll come babysit sometime! Although, L.A. to Philly is a bit of a commute

Unfortunately, my Lush bath the other night caused some leakage in to the apartment below us. We're not sure why and they said it's only happened one other time....and we weren't even in the state when it occurred.

*sigh* no baths until we find a new apartment.

Get rid of the bath mat.
Scrub that tub with a brush, not a sponge. Hot water, strong soap, lye soap maybe. Don't use a harsh scrubbing powder on it, as this roughs up the surface, making it very hard to clean again.
Drain and spray the heck out of it.
Then fill it with water and a cup of bleach and a little detergent for penetration into the crevices.
Let it soak till the water is just warm.
Drain and spray the heck out of it again.
By this time, with all that effort, you will need a bath.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Bella are you worried about what is in the drain or on the stopper? Just buy a new stopper.

Okay, I think I'm going to buy a new stopper (just a rubber one for when I take baths), scrub the fuck out of my tub, and shower before and after. Yea, I feel good about that one. Wow, I'm actually going to be able to enjoy a Lush bath?
