Default the best London clubs/bars at the moment?

i have worked in a few over the years but things have changed ALOT lately and i have gone back to work at clubs that were once good only be horrified at how much they had changed and how little money earning potential there was

i keep wasting money on childcare and travel expenses that i havent really got, starting at clubs and finding out they are terrible becuase i havent got many friends left in the industry these days so have nobody to inform me which are the best ones.

would be great if someone could fill me in on the best ones right now so i dont have to waste any more money and time starting at clubs and leavign coz they are terrible.

PS- dont suggest browns.. i was already told that i was prob too old to get in there (27) coz they like fresh younger girls .. and beleive it or not .. they did turn me down (without even seeing me dance ..... they take a photo of yuo and then the manager looks at it and decides from that and then if you get past that stage yuo are asked to go back and do a dancing audition)

Have you tried the White Horse in Shoreditch, that has very low house fees, only 5 girls max at once and it's still busy. It's stage shows and jug collections only { just down the road from Browns}. Also the White Horse in High Wycombe is not too bad as well.

On the club side I think they are all quiet because there are so many of them. FYEO are opening a massive new place in City Rd which is more or less inside the City and should do well. Browns has always been my recommendation but they are very fussy and to be honest the recent downturn seems to have affected even them.

White Horse used to be Rainbow { Rainbow is now called Lorraine's agency incidentally} but now only books direct. Although it's jug collections only they insist on £1 minimum and it's fairly busy so the girls I know are reasonably happy with the money there. It has a good stage, DJ, changing rooms, and lots of regular customers. They never used to have a house fee and even now it's £10 to £15 depending on the shift, there are 3 shifts and the lunchtime one is normally the quietest. The girls tell me you rarely make over £250 or less than £100 which for 3/4 hours is not bad but you won't ever make £1,000.

The big problem is that you will only get 2/3 shifts a week so will probably need somewhere else as well.

Do you mean Mervyn ? He has something like Parkinson's disease and think lives in Thailand now. He was a gay who liked young boys so I suppose he has found the perfect place now.

I suspect the new FYEO will do well though I suspect the house fees and number of girls will reflect this.

i just rang the white horse...

i asked "are you taking on any new dancers at the moment"

    the woman said...

"we sort of are.. but we sort of aren't.. i know that sounds a bit weird"

    i was like ... "ooookaaay"

so then she asked for my my name, number, where i live, asked me here i had worked before and what colour my hair was and said she will give her daughter my details and if she is takin on any dancers then she will give ma a ring...

before she left the convo she said "by the way my daughter is very particular abotu who she takes on... you either have to be very good on the pole or perform a s spectacular stage show"

well... i may not even get the chance to audition if the daughter never rings me back...
gonna go and audition for FYEO jsut in case

Pauline is the Mum and Sue the daughter. The father John used to basically run it but he has had health problems and is in Spain most of the time these days and Sue basically runs the show now. Sue is nice enough but she is quite fussy and likes girls with good stage shows { as that is what the pub is about}, they have no shortage of girls wanting to work there. I'd say Browns are fussier about looks but the WH is fussier about stage shows.

Good luck, I do know them both quite well so you can say I suggested them though it won't help really if she doesn't like you. If you get a job there you will get to meet me as it's my favourite haunt when I'm in London.

FYEO are advertising for girls in the Stage and Mypole, it opens on Feb 22nd. Another place nearby is the Platinum bar which is just private dances but I know a couple of the pub girls who have worked there and say it's OK.

    Hey !

Great to hear from somebody who works in London... Finally I'm not alone !

I share your disappointment with the London scene, it's been going downhill all over the UK for some time now and I dread to think about going to work again.

I haven't worked in 2008 yet as I have had a few issues to sort out and was also worried that Jan/Feb will be completely dead anyway. I'm planning to work in March though and really hope that the work will be at least Ok.

If you do go to FYEO,please let us know how it went, I'm half thinking about going there... I suspect it could be worth giving it a try especially right at the beginning, from my experience, lots of clubs get busy when they open and then it normally dries out. FYEO does advertise a lot for this new opening so perhaps that will draw people's attention. I've heard that they'll only charge something like £20 a night housefee and will take commission out of every dance you make (don't know if that's true though, that's what a friend of mine told me).

I've worked in FYEO in Mayfair (before it closed) and Croydon (just for a while, didn't really like that club because of its setting), and I do think that as a chain they're pretty good, and from my experience the clubs are EXTREMELY clean, the dances were being supervised and you were not allowed to get close to customer at all (Ok, the only exception was former FYEO in Park Royal as grinding has always been a norm there).

It's been getting harder and harder to make at least decent money in Uk, there are way too many clubs...

I know a few girls who either work or used to work in Browns/White Horse and they do like it as they don't have to hustle at all if they don't want to. You just do your set on the stage and will always make SOME money.
If I were you I'd still give White Horse a chance, perhaps try to train on the pole more or something, it really is supposed to be pretty decent place to work.

The Platinum Bar used to be a great place to work at, a close friend of mine has told me that 2 years ago MOST OF THE GIRLS would make £500+ on the average EVERY night but although the place is still Ok you have to work hard to make decent money now (which is possibly the case of most of the clubs nowadays, isn't it). I don't know how will this club get affected by having a FYEO club just round the corner, I'm a bit pesimistic and think it won't be good for that place at all.

I still hear good things about Newcastle (supposed to be busy especially during the weekends) however that's far away from London and that's the reason I've never tried it there.

I'd like to know how things are in Birmingham or other cities but there are not many people from UK who would contribute to a discussion about UK clubs.

Hope you have a good luck and keep us informed !

Newcastle did only have 1 club { Fyeo} a couple of years ago but now has 5 so whether it will be quite as busy now I don't know. Birmingham has even more {10 or 12} but is much less strict about no touching rules than in London so I think the places tend to be busier as a result.

The big problem in the UK at the moment is that there are too many clubs which don't have enough custom and pack in the girls to keep up the house fee income to survive. This turns the club into a massive hassle for the customers and makes them ever less likely to go back. That's why I tend to recommend the WH and Browns as they have fewer girls and a lot more customers.

hi sydney... i will keep you posted about what is going on then. fingers crossed that the white horse ring me back... i want the chance to at least go for an audition. i have a fair amount of pole experience so i hope that'l get my by if i get an audition.
if they dont ring me back in a week i will try again and see what they are saying...
    otherwise its FYEO .

im tempted to try browns again... the day i went there last time (2 summers ago) i knew i wouldnt get past the photo stage. it was a boiling hot day and i had jsut walked from old street station in a pair of boots that were killing my feet... by the time i got there i was a sweaty mess and she took 2 photo's and gave me the choice of 1 but they were both not nice photos at all and made me look like a right minger...

i think i may go on a 4 week toning up period and then try again... will grab the chance while its still cold so no chance of me getting all hot n nasty before i arrive... i am 27 but i do look alot younger (i get asked for ID on a regualr basis when trying to buy alcohol) people generally think im around 20-23 and sometimes they even say im 17-19. which is a bit of an ego boost ha ha ha ha .. so maybe if i get get nice pics this time... i may have a chance

will keep you posted tyke if i start working at white horse.. will have to say hello if i get in there.

wil also keep u posted about FYEO Sydney if i start there... i notced they will be doign day shifts there... not sure if that'd work... who knows

    Hi Emma,

we are on the same boat, I've been thinking about at least TRYING to get to Browns for a long time, but I've never really liked it there (as a customer), it does look a bit dingy, BUT all the girls I've ever spoken about that pub loved working there. Most of them were working there for a few years and then got sacked, but hey, at least they made the best out of the time they were given.

I had heard about Browns long before I actually started working in London, but I never thought you could make good money there after seeing it. However, you make money EVERY night so it adds up... and your shifts are much shorter as well. If you got hired, you need to be prepared to give them as much availability as possible, from what I've heard they are fair with giving out shifts (so you shouldn't end up doing not-so-busy times all the time), but they prefere if you can work any time during a week.

I've never tried it only because I study as well and sometimes I need to take long blocks of time off and hence the clubs give me more flexibility in this.
However, my dancing "career" is slowly but surely getting to an end (hopefully!!), as I hope to get a corporate job soon.
I'm in my early 20's so I still keep thinking I should get the best out of stripping, I love the job but it's been getting very stressful and not so worth it moneywise.

Oh, if you live outside London, apparently White Horse in High Wycombe (or whatever the spelling is) is pretty decent during the lunch time, I think if you got hired in WH in the city then you can choose to work there as well (don't know if that's still true, but one of the girls that still works in WH told me that some time ago).

And the last thing - you will not be allowed to work both in WH and Browns,
so if you got hired in one place don't go and audition in the other.

WH High Wycombe is nothing to do with the WH Shoreditch though there is no problem at working at both. WH HW is run by Alaistair Watts who normally acts as DJ during the shows.

Browns always used to be the best money wise and lots of girls worked there for 7 or 8 years or even more { a girl called Sunni worked there for 15 years!}. They have a sister pub called the Griffin and you will get 4/5 bookings a week between the 2. Browns is basically also run by a woman Denise who is strict but does look after the girls if there are any problems with customers etc. I think though the last 2 or 3 years it's been quieter though on a busy Friday or Saturday you still get 150 or more blokes in there which makes the jug collections good and so PDs less critical.

You used to be able to work both the WH and Browns but that was stopped by Browns 2 years ago. Most of the girls I know who have worked both prefer the WH but say the money overall is better at Browns. Browns tends to sack girls who hit their mid 30s even if they still look great. I think the rule on applying is that if they have turned you down you can't try again for 6 months, they are efficent administratively so will remember.

The fact that both Browns and the WH are difficult to get jobs in compared to Secrets or Spearmint tells you something.

well i am in the clear to try at brown again then coz its was 2 summers ago i went there last. gonna make sure im in the best condition possible though before i dare coz i will be most upset if i get turned down twice.

what i dont understand is this... i have a friend who worked in browns for a couple of year and left of her own accord ...
she then tried stringfellows and was turned down twice... the girl is so gorgeous it makes you green with envy and her body is perfectly toned and pert as well as the fact she is a great dancer and has alot of dancing experience...
just makes me wonder what is was the made browns take her on but not stringfellows... LOL she rekons the guy who auditiond her musta been gay ha ha ha ha .. it was the same one that turned her down twice

( you may even know my friend.. i think her working name was nicole .. very pretty and slim with long dark brown hair and olive skin.. she worked at spearmints in TC-road.. as well as browns for a few years and finally ye old axe b4 she gave up stripping ... it was about 3-4 years ago she gave up .. ring any bells ???????)

There are actually two operations run by Alaistair at the WH HW - the downstairs lunchtime 'pub' sessions and the upstairs 'bar 95' lap night time dance club sessions.

Same dancers often work both shifts (long day) as it makes it a good earner.

Alaistair tends to be pretty picky as to dancers - he takes a cut of the LD's fees, so only wants pretty/in shape girls who really hustle for LD's (and hence make him money).

He's also just taken on quite a few new dancers, so it may be a little dificult to get hired there in the immediate future.

As has also been mentioned, there are the varying pub agencies - Rainbow, Entertease, Angels Exotic, Promises, but you have to do a fair bit of travelling if you work for those + the money is not quite as good as the clubs.

I work in one of the FYEO clubs in Newcastle and know the manager of the new London club pretty well. I saw him last Thursday and he asked me to go down and work opening night. He said the commission would only be £40 a night for the first few months to all girls who work opening night. I don't think I'm gonna go down as I can pretty much garuntee money here but I think it might be pretty good. Plus they're closed Sat and Sun night so it might be nice working as a stripper with the weekends off for a change. I can't see this club being good long term tho. More than likely it will go downhill like all the other SCs in London. It should be busy enough tho for the first 6 months as people always like to go to a new club. Its definatley worth a try, especially with the low commission for the first few months.

I can remember Nicole. The time I went to Stringfellows they had maybe 80 girls on that night of which 10 or so were real stunners but a good half would have not got a job at Browns. I think she must have been unlucky when she tried.

Hey, can anyone tell me about Hustler in Croydon?
Ive been booked to dance there in a week through thebestdancers.com because I now live down in Newquay and I need to make some savings for my travels.
Its going to cost me £40 to get up to London and Ive already spent £100 on new shoes and dresses, not to mention money for a tan and nails and its £50 a night to stay in their hotel with no house fee if you stay in the hotel, which means it will cost me £700 for two weeks!
So, I need the club to be busy enough for me to make the money I need to stay there and the money I need for travels and rent while Im away.
Hearing that its pretty crap in London is making me nervous and Im wondering if I should cancel the booking and go dance in Ireland through Laptastic since I can fly to Ireland from Newquay without having to spend 9hrs on a coach!

It used to be quiet when it was FYEO but as a Hustler it maybe busier. Mind you it is {was?} one of the few topless only places in the UK which won't help.

I would think London is dead not just due to the influx of Brazilian and Eastern European women, but also because it's a high finance capital. And financiers are crying into their pillows lately - many layoffs in London and substantially lower bonuses.

21st centuryfox... i would cancel hustler and go to ireland instead.

i know 5-6 girls who have left since in changed to hustler coz its alot more quiet in there. my friend was working in there for months when it was fyeo and then she said it totaly went downhil when it changed. the new manager is a total bitch apparently and she has sacked loads of girls for no good reason and aswel as that it is EVEN more quiet then fyeo was and alot harder to make the money.

i would seriously NOT go there at all as have heard a few bad things from a few different girls.
