Default A Simple Money Goal Projection Game..

Ok, here's a simple money making projection game that my friend and I play with ourselves.... If you have a financial goal that you want to reach in a specific amount of time, this helps to put your earnings in perspective, and to project what you will and can realistically make. I will explain in terms of my situation.. I'm going away for three weeks to see my family in 17 days. I need to make between 3 and 4 Gs dancing before I leave to cover my bills, rent, savings goals, etc that will need to be paid before and while I'm away. I plan on dancing 8 nights in this timeframe, so I get out post it notes, or write in a column on a piece of paper 8 amounts that I will likely make on the 8 shifts that I work. I put in a few low amounts for bad shifts, one high amount for a really good shift, and average amounts that I usually make.
(for example: 300, 450, 700, 650, 200 etc...) These amounts add up to the large amount that is my goal to have before I leave.. I hang the paper or the post its on my bulletin board and when I come home every night I check off the amount that is closest to what I've made.. I find that doing this helps to keep what I make in perspective.. And to take the bad nights with the good nights, to be thankful for the amount I make even if its considered a bad night... Having this where I can see it in my house helps me to realize that if I stick to my plans, take everything day by day, and make it to work I will make the money that I need..
Its a pretty simple thing but I find it works for me....

That IS a good idea. I also have trouble putting my money goals in perspective, but I think this will help. Thank you!

This sounds cool! I'm not dancing, but I'm going to try it anyway
I know in the book, 'The Secret' they talk about having a 'wish board' (pasting pics of the things you're striving for, house, car, etc.)

I do something similar. At the start of every month, I make a list of all my expenses for that month. When I come home from work (or in the morning after work), I cross off the bills I can now cover, and I pay them. Crossing things off that list really gets me motivated to keep going! And when the month ends and everything's marked off, I know everything I'm working for is just fun money so I relax and get something nice. It really does help to see it all in writing.

Thumbs up Re: A Simple Money Goal Projection Game..

That is such a great idea!

Im leaving for a year in Australia on the 3rd April. I need £2000 in savings and two months of rent and bills on top of that. So Im going to make a list like that to help. Your idea is good to Yekefah!

As for making a 'wish board' or 'vision board', Ive noticed that having pictures around me of what I want programs my subconscious with an expectation of receiving it and I eventually get it. Ive had bumper stickers on my facebook profile of couples, kissing, holding hands and cuddling and theyve always stood out to me. i now have a really great relationship, exactly as i wanted it and wished for when looking at those pics. i dont know if the pics really had anything to do with it, but i think it helped. so im going to post pics of me with cash all around for me to look at so i program my mind to associate me with money.

another great book to read is THE GAME OF LIFE AND HOW TO PLAY IT - By Florence Scovel-Shinn. It was originally written by her in 1925 but she gives a lot of examples, its a quick and easy read and its now my bible. She makes a lot of God and bible references but they dont mess the message up even though Im not religious.

Ok, so Ive done my list.

I need to save £2000 before I leave on 3rd April. Ive booked myself to go up to London and dance for two weeks. Im going to dance 6 nights a week. Taking Monday nights off. Accom is £50 a night with no house fee. These amounts are take home amounts after commission (tip out).

If this is what I make, I will need to go back up to London for another two weeks, or over to Ireland is another place Im considering.

Anyway, this is what mine looks like. I am hoping the club will be busy enough for me to make these amounts as I hear London is pretty awful at the moment.

Hey, Cinnie! Basically, it's just setting a $ goal on paper, what you'd want to make, with allowances for not so good days.
