Has anyone tried it here? Did it have any lasting effects after waking up?
I talked with my therapist about going on this short term.

I tried it, gave me hallucinations but didnt make me sleepy. Scary stuff.
I used Lunesta for an extended period, maybe 3 months, when I was having trouble sleeping from my depression.
It helped me get to sleep easily with NO blackouts like Ambien gave me. I was able to wake in the morning well. The only problem was that it gave me an awful taste in my mouth that never went away as long as I used it. I drank a lot of water and chewed gum, but that bitter, strange taste was always there.

:/ What kind of hallucinations? Scary hallucinations or just weird ones?

I tried it. Did nothing for me, I had to go back on Ambien.
It worked well for me, with less crazy behavior than Ambien. All sleepy pills make me groggy, so I can't tell if that was better or worse with Lunesta.

Meh, that little moth in the commercial didn't make it to my house.

Why the hell is lunesta so expensive and ambien is not? Whats the deal. boo. I called the pharmacy and they said the cheapest was 1mg/30days for $114. I haven't been in to fill out an ap yet. At almost $4/pill I better get the best damn sleep of my life.

Good luck with the sleeping. I've been waking up every night at about 4 am, regardless of what time I go to bed. Very frustrating. Let me know how it's going.

Love Lunesta! It knocks me out and I wake up refreshed. I would get mega munchies and mad vertigo before my doctor switched me over from Ambien.

Lunesta made me moody .....

I was given a trial prescription for Sonata, (10mg/dose). Initially it took 2 pills a night to get to sleep, then once I had it a few hrs after I had had alcohol and had scary visual and auditory hallucinations and stopped taking them at all. I had one left and took that last night (after not having it for nearly 3 weeks) and I slept well, without a groggy feeling upon waking up. I had specifically asked my psychiatrist for something anti-groggy(!)
However, I have had success with OTC pills such as 1)Tylenol PM, 2)Unisom, and 3)a small amount of Nyquil so I will most likely not refill any prescription sleeping pills unless they cease to work.

No hallucinations, no grogginess after waking, but it only worked for me for about 2 months before my body got real used to it. It's very mild compared to other sleep 'scripts.
