If not, it's time to try it and see how you will never go back to paying for overpriced, overchemcaled crap again!

Put some on cotton pad. Wipe down and out, be careful not to get your makeup/oil in yr eye, can be irritating for hours, but just slight--no burn or anything.

I've tried it in the past... certain creams and oils, including olive oil give me little bumps around my eyes that take months to go away . They're painless but I know they're there and it drives me bonkers... However, I use castor oil mixed with essential oils lightly at the base of my lashes every other night and that hasn't caused any bumpies yet... maybe it's the touch of eucalyptus (spelling?) I add

Anyhow, I want to try jojoba oil as a makeup remover since that's supposed to be closest to your skins nautral oil... maybe that will work for me. I do like to add olive oil to my cheap body lotion, it makes my skin soooo soft!

I favor jojoba & apricot kernel.

Olive oil is better for ingesting, given all the handy internal benefits. I tried it for makeup removal but it leaves a film on my eyeballs..Yick!

So I use baby oil gel on the eye area- you let it warm up and the eye makeup "melts" off.

Olive oil is a little too thick for my tastes, but I usually use almond oil. Not often, but certainly whenever I've got eyelash glue stuck all over me.

I have when working the club (Olive oil). But now i just use a warm washcloth with mild soap on it and press it on my eyes, this softens the make-up and i rinse off with cold water. Works.

^^^ Makeup remover does that to me too. With baby oil it just slides right off, no rubbing at all!

I get the Jojoba oil from Trader Joes. I massage it in to my whole face after work, and after removing my lashes. I leave it on while I heat up some water for tea or some food. Then I wash it off with Cephacil face wash. If there is anthing left around my eyes I use MAC gently off. This routine works for me.

I use babywipes lol. No problems. I don't have to scrub hard, I just lightly wipe my eyes and it comes right off. Or when I remember i'll buy those dove cleansing cloth thingies.

    Im cheap and simple lol.

For those who use olive oil as a makeup remover, can you post what brands you use? Plain olive oil is heavy and leaves a film. I have purchased from DDF, and their oil comes in a size too small for the price.

My mom uses baby oil to remove makeup and has beautiful skin, but it makes me break out. It contains petrolatum which studies show clog the pores. I guess it works for some people.

I have really sensitive breakout prone skin too, but fortunately not around my immesdiate eye area...most people don't, right? I use any olive oil. I don't think it leaves a film, and it's prob really good for your skin. Then again, I mostly do it at night and then go to sleep, I don't experience puffiness or anything. I'll probably switch to Trader Joe's Jojoba oil (good shit right!) after I run out of my big ass vat. I also use it if I shave my bikini area with a razor as an xtra precaution against bumps! I just don't like the smell of baby oil.

Sophia, I use cotton pads instead of balls, and I don't get it in my eye often, and it's when I'm being careless. You might want to use a q-tip to get off the last of the mascara underneath---but if it gets in your eye, it causes slight irritation when you close it, but nothing horrible at all, and I'm convinced it's from the makeup getting in there anyway.

It seriously slides right off, just as Yek said. I hate wiping and wiping and rubbing! Causes wrinkles in the long term too!

I've switched from regular makeup remover to cleansing oils. I think oil-based removes eye makeup a lot better. It might be greasy, but I jump in the shower right afterwards anyways. But the one I'm using right now by MAC rinses clean of residue, kinda weird cause it's all oil. I like it, but if I run out and need a quick fix, I can always grab olive oil!

when i wear makeup, i use pond's cold cream for removal and/or wipes, as cally mentioned.

the cold cream is best, it leaves no residue and is refreshing (i think there's some camphor in there).

I actually use rose hip oil right now, but have used olive oil in the past. I dont find a huge diff...the rose hip oil absorbs faster, but neither breaks me out.
