    Default My puppy is sick

I came home from work to find Dash's kennel filthy full of sick. I took him ut and he hd the runs 4 times. Again inside he did it again. Now he is vomiting.

Doesn't appear to have a fever, although I am going to buy a thermometer and check.

What to look out for? What to do? He isn't acting lethargic...he isn't playful, but doesn't want to lie dead either. I'm worried. He eats everything, and I do my best to keep him out of stuff, but sometimes he find things before I get to him. He can't get into anythign poisonous. I don't have cleaners or anythign dangerous where he can get to it.

I don't think I need to see a vet just yet..but I need to keep an eye on him closely and watch if he gets worse I will have to call a vet. What should I watch for?

MAke sure he is drinking plenty of water, if he isn't then defiintely be worried.
Don't feed him until the dirahea stops a bit. If it doesn't in the next day then take him to the vet.
When it seems safe to feed him, just give him rice with chicken that has no seasoning. This should stop him up.
I also give my dogs kaopectate and this stops them up. They usually only get it when they are nervous ( I left them with a neighbor) or they got into another dog's food or I prob gave them something that messed with their tummy.
Have you changed his diet in any way? Or gave him something new? My dogs got sick off of salmon one time so it could something innocent.
I don't know everything so go online to find out about dirahea for dogs and what to look for and other ways to treat. Their are tons of sights.

I took him to the vet. He hasn't had all of his shots yet, and vomit/diarrhea is signs of parvo, so to be on the safe side, we went to the emergency vet.

Luckily, he is fine. Better safe than sorry. They aren't sure what was wrong...and I couldn't afford all of the tests, I just wanted to be sure it wasn't parvo. I'm going to keep an eye on him and if he doesn't get better in a few days, back to the vet. but he should be fine.

Try to get some ginger in him (it will stop the stomach cramping that causes diarrhea) (a little bit goes a long way but there's no such thing as too much), and watch for dehydration.

he is much better today. I am such a worrier. He seems back to his old self. Must've ate something that didn't agree with him. I slept last night with him on my chest so I could feel him breathe. I am so overprotective and a worry wart. I love this dog so much.

buy some old fashion boil on the stove white rice, boil up a pot of it, save the water from cooking the rice and let it cool. put the rice in a bowl and let it cool. add a little sugar to water to sweeten and then feed to puppy. the starch from cook the the rice will help settle there tummy and firm them up. if they keep it down then you can give them rice to eat, if that stays down or comes out firm then you can add canned chicken to the rice. ive used this for puppys many times. puppys have a tendency to eat things they shouldnt, like socks or plants it just like raising a child......
Baby's, the OTHER other white meat!

I want my baby back, baby back, baby back.............................................r ibs.

yay, glad all seems well with the pupper. They tend to get cha cha cha every once in a while with their tender tummies and all. Keep us posted about his recovery.
