ok so i make a payment in cash at a check cashing place this summer the payment doesnt show up towards my account i am fucked. why? Because i didnt save my reciept.
So i started saving my reciepts. Last month same thing happens however this time it says a credit of 130 off my balance then the next line says payment correction of 130. the bill looks like this::
balance forwarded 148.08
payment made 130.00
payment correction 130.00
balance forwarded 148.08
new charges 148.02
new balance 296.00
So needless to say i contacted the company.
1st women says oh its just a carry over of your balance and another month
and says i have to pay it
2nd call i ask for a full 2007 account history sent to me
3rd call women says that it looks like something is wrong here and she will contact the billing department and call back never recieve a call back
4th call women says oh we were faxed an affadavit saying that the money was not paid to the right account and thats why they took it off. so i reply thats funny i have a reciept here that says i did pay that amount to my account. so she says oh well then i am going to call billing again and call you back.
she calls back and says oh that amount was deducted from your bill already. i said where and she say a the previous bill. lol even though this would mean october november bill yet i made that payment for novembers december bill and yes the date is on the receipt.
But then i asked again why would you make a payment correction she just ignored me and let me know nicely that if i dont pay the bill they will shut my electric off
I cant believe i am getting fucked by my electric company so now i am waiting for my 2007 bill and am thinking about how to aproach the check cashing place to have them give me a payment history on my account number which i am assuming they should have in case they ever get audited.
I was thinking of telling them i need it for my taxes.
anyhow any suggestions would be appreciated
so once this is done i will either demand that they fix this or take the documents to my lawyer
