Nobody??
i dont know where you are but if u live close to the valley go to the paul mitchell school in the sherman oaks galleria. (405 &101 interchange) its like $10 for a cut and they always do a great job. they are students but are being closely watched and graded so they have to do their best or they will not pass the school. better than some pros ive been to
Call Hilda at Mijo Salon on Santa Monica. Someone here recommended her to me and she's amazing. Little expensive, but totally worth it! She also does incredibly natural color and highlights. Nice lady, too.
Yek...what's a little expensive?
I might check out the paul mitchell place. I had a edgy cut right before I started interviewing for jobs and decided to go all one length to try to tone it down. Unfortunately, he gave me a VERY blunt cut. I hate it. I need color too.
I just need to find my happy place out here. I need girlfriendshaha.
Hilda used to give me amazing color with highlights, fantastic cuts, and beautiful styles with great texture. It would run me somewhere around $120-150; I think it was about $175 once because I had something complicated done, can't remember. But a regular cut and color should run you about $120-150. You get what you pay for though!

HEY yeah paul mitchell school!!!! in costa mesa. or Crew salon on bristol in irvine... be a hair model and get it for free... both absolutely fantastic. as to LA-proper (as in, within the city) i dunno.... but a cheap, awesome haircut is worth the drive to OC!
I'm going to Sherman Oaks tomorrow for a cut and color. I'm nervous!! Oooh, do they take credit cards?
I was always a hair model for a friend of mine in Austin... and before that, the guy who cut my hair did it for free because I sent him so much business. I hate having to pay for stuff now in a new city, ha.

(i don't understand why you're paying when you could just search LA CL for hair model opp's for students in studios all over the city... + i gave you some suggestions...)
but yeah, most places take cc's, i don't see why not...
I'm going to the Paul Mitchell school for the cut and color and I'd already set my appointment when I read your post.
With hair modeling.... don't you have to do what they want? Like if they want to cut it short and dye it purple, you have to?? I'm probably way off base on that but just checking.

^^^ hahah hell no!! with a hair model they just have general directions: "layers." "blonde." "short." you usually only model for someone whose criterion you fit to begin with.![]()
oh, good luck w/ paul mitchell, i've always loved their work!
Well it could be better... it could be worse. When my hair is wet or in direct light, you can see that my roots are MUCH more golden than the rest of my hair color. The cut... well, she cut a lot off. It's a good cut over all but whatever. I was there for four freakin' hours.
Other than the roots issue, I do love the rich color. I don't love that you can see color stains on my hair line.
What's the suggested length of time to wait before washing after color?? Does it matter when it's perm? My guy in Austin always used temp color and had me wait a couple days.
All in all, for 34 dollars total, I can't complain too much, ha.
