I'm in a rut and I might need a change. I'm having an intense debate in my head about what to do, so I figured I'd tap upon the wisdom of stripper web.
I currently work at Club #1. I just did my audition at Club #2, and was hired for the night shift. I have to go get my permit ($350) to work there, so I can't just pick up and go. It's an investment.
Let's compare.
Club #1
Nude
Amenities: A little bit of a dive bar. Tables and chairs on the main floor are like pizza parlor chairs. Tables at the bar are stools, and there's a few plush chairs for the people lucky enough to get them. VIP rooms are kind of lame, just semi private small rooms with chairs and couches. The food is like pool hall food - wings, chicken fingers, etc. It has a little bit of a dingy, dirty look. On weekends, there is a haze of cigarette smoke in the air.
Stages: 4 stages. Main is a long runway with a pole. There are 2 side stages, also with poles. One stage is a bartop.
Money: Table dances are $10. You can get as much as $250 a half hour for VIP, $500 an hour. Unless you're getting VIPs, it's back breaking work to make money. Every great once in a while you can get $300/$600. The shitty thing is that if a guy puts it on his card, they charge 15% both ways, so for a guy to give me $500 in funny money, he pays $575, and I get $425. It's 133.35% of the cost. 10% of what you make goes to the DJ (and he only keeps half of that), so you can get $380 for an hour after all is said and done - literally 2/3 of what the guy spent (not including drinks, tips to the waitress, funny money girl, and floor guy). Sometimes, though, the guy pays $500 cash, so you're walking with $450. More often when they have cash, we give them a discount so it's $200/$400. Everybody has their hand out to get tipped, and if the guy doesn't do it, it's often expected that you should. If the bill from VIP (including the cost for MY time) is $700, the waitress writes up a statement with all the expenses, and tells the guy that the suggested tip is 20% - $140 for bringing drinks! This turns off a lot of guys. I hate the 15% both ways thing, the passive aggressive floormen who make VIP unpleasant if you don't MAKE the guy tip them, the waitresses who expect to make 20% of the bill when I'm only making 2/3 of what I could be. Because we are allowed medium contact, you have the chance to keep the guy back there for a long time, but you're getting groped the whole time, pushing away hands. Girls are getting dirtier by the day.
Contact: Table dances are supposed to be no contact, but they are light contact. VIP is also supposed to be no contact, but since I started the club has gotten more risque. Girls who the bouncers like leave them alone in VIP and let them grind, get their tits grabbed, etc, and they watch the girls they don't favor (IE: the ones who don't get them tipped $20/$40) like hawks. The guys get their money's worth in VIP with one of the higher contact girls.
Tip out: $40 if you're on the floor by 8, $50 by 8:30, $60 by 9, and $90 after 9. 10% to the DJ. $10 to the housemom ($20 if you want her to like you).
Crowd: White collar on weekdays, more of a young party crowd on weekends. The girls who make money on weekends are girls who can do pole tricks, dance to hip hop and can shake their asses (not me).
Location: Near downtown, right off the highway, but kind of out of the way unless someone tells you about the club.
Girls: Mostly pretty hot girls, with a few "Huh? She works here?" kind of girls.
Biggest downfalls: Higher contact than I like is becoming the norm. The crowd is very hip hop and young on the weekends, which I have never and will never fit into. Open until 4 AM, by which time I am exhausted. Weeknights are hit or miss as far as money goes - you must get a VIP to make money. Greedy staff. Grungey facility. Small locker room.
Perks: I know everyone there and have a good hustle buddy.
Club #2
Nude
Amenities: Four star restuarant. Great looking, "classy" place. Good ventilation, doesn't smell like smoke. VIP rooms are semi private and look like a nice hotel lounge.
Stages: 3 stages, 4 girls on each at any given time. No poles, just more swaying back and forth looking hot. You have to be tipped $5 to go topless, $10 to go nude.
Money: $10 strictly no contact table dances, $150/$300 for VIP, also strictly no contact. You keep all of your funny money, and the guy gets charged 10%.
Contact: Strictly NO CONTACT during dances.
Tip out: No tip out to the house, a maximum of $25 to the DJ, $10 to the housemom.
Crowd: White collar all week, young crowd added in on the weekends.
Location: In the heart of downtown, near major business headquarters, law firms, hospitals, and convention halls.
Girls: Nearly all are knockouts or above average.
Biggest downfalls: Switching to a new club is scary, especially when I have so much invested in club #1. I have to cover my tattoos. VIP is slightly less, but word is it's easier to be back there nearly all night (I'd rather make slightly less per hour for no contact). Not open on Sundays.
Perks: Closes at 3! Huge gorgeous locker room where I can take a shower while they clear out the club after closing. White collar clientelle interested in companionship and conversation (which I exceed at). Little emphasis on actual dancing (which I suck at).
I'm leaning towards club #2 but I am attached to #1.
GIVE ME YOUR WISDOM, YOU BEAUTIFUL NAKED GENIUS LADIES.
