Yay, you're gonna try it! I think it'll look hot. Post pics when it's done.

i think like a 6 - maybe a little more auburn than copper? But i like the copper....I dunno. what do you think?

Im just afraid the roots are going to be different than the rest so I need a good filler - I really need to learn the Redken line...

Okey dokey... Judging from the info you provided and your avatar pic, here's how I start...

I would use Shades EQ for the entire process...

    1st fill- 1oz 9AA 1/2 oz 8WG, heat 15, cool 5

2nd fill- Would seriously depend on what the outcome of first fill was... ideally, your hair should be at a nice level 8 with strong gold orange tones and this would be your final color application... I'd do either equal parts 7NB & 7CB (for a rich red auburn with a warm brown base) or 1oz 7CB to 1 1/2 oz 6AA (for a copper auburn with a warm brown base) or even 1oz 6CG 1/2 7C & 1/4 6AA (for a true copper with a warm gold brown base)

yea - its exactly like the avatar.

Im thinking maybe the first one - more auburn brown.

Well see how it goes! I can always play around depending on the outcome of the first fill

Shades all around? Im skeered of colorfusion...

Since your going darker than your natural level, CF or any other permanant color isn't nessacary...

I would strongly reccommend using CAT (evens the hairs porosity) and even a Chemistry System using the Stregnth Shot before coloring, then a Chem SYstem with the Protect Shot after your last color application. I see a huge differnce in color vibrancy and retention on my clients and myself when I use them.

Audrey, just so we're clear, I thought maybe I should post examples of the color formulations I came up with so my descriptions match what my mental image...

    For 7NB & 7CB:

    7CB & 6AA:

The CG/C/AA would be closest to Marcia Cross's pic...

Yea, I think the first one - darker. I dunno tho... maybe Marcia Cross. lol. Guess I better figure it out.

I have anti-snap and was going to buy CAT.

    Whats the chemistry system?

Chemistry System is a professional, two step conditioning service made by Redken... effin' rocks!!!

You can sign onto the pro site for details, it's basically 5-6 serums (what they call shots) that you can custom blend to your clients needs. You shampoo, throw on the shots, let it marinate for 3-5 minutes, spray on one of the Phix Phase's (3.5 for chemically damaged hair, 5.5 for mechanically damaged hair) which seals down the cuticle and balances the ph of the hair- let that do it's thing for 2 minutes, rinse, then condition...

I keep it in my shower and use it before and after I get my color done... it's a $20 add on service that 99% of my color clients get regularly. Did I mention it effin' rocks?

Does anyone else think it's kinda sexxy when Mia starts talking color chemistry? Maybe I'm just freaky.

^^^ Same for me... thats the color i liked best. just not 100% sure with my skin tone. Im a bit yellow and that may look better on more of a pink skin tone. Guess Ill color it and see. If it doesnt look right ill just put some brown on it to darken it up.

Me too! The more I look at it the more her skin looks yellow and not pink. Maybe it's just the dress?

Well, yellow or pink - if we do the same color we'll see which it looks better on!

Yes definitely post pics! I think you'll look gorgeous, very eye catching. I think I have a similar skin tone to you too (maybe a bit paler) so it would be great to see how it looks on you.
