Oh, wow, how weird. Bring in alternate ID? Passport, birth certificate. And a calculator so they can do the math.
Are you sure heres no way it could really hve been your parents? Do you get on with them? Do they know what you do?

Hi, this is a situation that really sucks. The only way I can think of you verifying the driver's license is online. There are sites that will do a search on your DL # and email the results to you.
Usually these cost around $20-$30 and are fairly quick.
I'm assuming that they think your ID is fake.

didn't you say you were in college?
I used my college info to get an id when I was in college. I went to the registrar, explained that I needed alternate info to get an ID (mine was stolen) and they filled out a stamped and sealed envelope that could only be opened once by the person filling out my ID info. I think that should work for you.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..
What the hell? This happened last night? Wow.. PM me if ya want. Sorry to hear that![]()
Thats fucking weird. Good luck girl. Bring in your birth certificate, and.... why the hell would the club down the street call the other club. Are they sister clubs?

I take it you only 18 so you probably haven't learned all this stuff yet but you can get a copy of your birth certificate through the State where you were born. You should really have a certified copy of it for your personal records anyway as it is a document that can be used to get a passport which is required these days to travel anywhere outside the USA. Even on a cruise ship vacation.
Other things you should always have in a safe place is your SSN card. Plus you really need to carry a State id or drivers license in your purse or wallet at all times.
Don't worry. It may take some time time to get all these records and documents together but once you do you'll never have to be bothered with this sort of thing again.

*confused* I know PA ID's have two bars on them saying UNDER 18 until xx/xx/xxxx and another sayng UNDER 21 until xx/xx/xxxx.
im still asleep... gimme a break![]()
What a weird situation. Who the hell could these people be?? Keep us informed if you ever find out, Im really intrigued.
I know youre frustrated but this has a very simple fix.
You go down to the recoders office thats in the city you were born in. Either that or the one at the state capital of the state you were born in. You fill out a piece of paper and get your birth certificate. It takes all of 15 minutes. Its an actually watermarked birth certificate. The same one your parents have. Ive had to do this for me and my daughter when I lost ours.
Its simple and you dont need your parents there. You dont even need ID because its public record and anyone can get a copy of one.
If that doesnt solve the problem I dont know what will...
If you don't have "time" to get the easy fix then I wouldn't complain, honestly. I know it's frustrating to go through but it really is pretty simple even to just get a regular COPY of your birth certificate.... it doesn't have to be certified to show to the club but having your own certified copy (different from the ones your parents have) is something that is important to have as an adult.
Let me explain this a little better. It works the exact same as the one your parents have. It works the same as having the original that they got when you were born.
That statement may lead someone to believe that the one they get at the recorders office is different or wont work when they need their original.
ummm. hmmm.
maybe the management is just messing with you or something. i have seen it happen to a couple of friends of mine before, when management wanted to make them quit rather than fire them. not this specific situation, but definitely just as weird.
i mean, if the management really believed you were under eighteen wouldnt they just fire you? i know there are underaged dancers out there, but it seems like something any manager (in any adult business) would handle right away due to legal liability issues and things like that.
It can be difficult to make a recently single man pay for sex when he knows that a quick trip to the local watering hole would secure at least one hard drunken tumble for far less cash. It is even more difficult when he is something of a dead ringer for James Bond as played by Daniel Craig and possesses the sort of awkard charm and confidence that brands a man like him as a lady killer.

No shit--this is fishy as hell. "So you're 17. Take one week off and come back" ???
Yeah, I wanna know who this supposed couple that came in with her photograph are. If its not her parents then who are they? Did the club just make them up as an excuse to fire her?
The club would be in a LOT bigger shit and be acting a lot more concretely if someone's parents actually came in to claim that their underage daughter was working there. Liability lawsuit much?
Agreed that this seems shady...
I can relate to this. Not long before I started dancing, I went to one club in particular to try and audition. The housemom and manager were apprehensive, mostly because I looked so nervous/scared(never danced before), my lack of experience, and my super young looks. They had me talk to the manager in his office first, and he seemed skeptical of my age and the ability for me to adjust to the "big bad world" of dancing/the city. He kept dwelling on the fact that the address on my license was this well-to-do suburb town that is known for being very sheltered. It was kinda shady. I relayed this story to a friend(who I danced with) over a year later, and she told me that the real reason the manager had his doubts was probably because I looked really really young...like 16 when I was 22. It probably didn't help that I had dark brown hair at the time, but I had longer bleach blonde hair in my license picture.
As far as what you can do, I agree with the others that you should bring in other forms of ID. I also wonder if these people are just trying to find some kind of excuse to get rid of you. Is it possible that somebody *did* try to go into the club and report you as underage, and the managers just want you to leave so that any more drama is prevented? Managers can be weird at times and I agree that this is a bit shady. I really hope the best for you with this situation. If all else fails, can you find another club in town with different management?
if you took one week off, how would that help the situation?
well if they are trying to make her quit it would probably be their hope that during that off-time she would just give up and decide to not deal with it and simply not go back after the "time off" was over.
