Default Question about lap dancing for disabled customers?

Hi, i'm putting together a presenrarion for adult industry professional on how to interact with disabled customers. I hope to include a few short paragraphs with suggestions for how to lap dance for blind and wheelchair bound customers. Could people help me by sharing a few experiences you've had?

I've never came across a blind customer, they won't even be able to see the naked women! Lol. I guess for them it's all about the touch. All of my wheelchair customers have been great, I have to try harder to keep my balance during a contact dance though.

I'm sure there are blind customers out there. On Miami Ink on TLC a blind customer got a tattoo so I wouldn't be shocked if a blind person wanted a lap dance.

I've danced for a couple wheelchair-bound guys, and a guy with a metal leg from the hip down. In all cases it's a bit awkward gettin started, because I don't know what their range of movement is, how much their chairs or prosthetics can take, ect. So, I just begin cautiously and watch their reactions, and put more weight on if they seem to enjoy it. No complaints yet, the latter fella even gave me the date for his bach party at the club in a couple months :]

I have danced for quite a few customers in wheel chairs and it went well.

I will ask them if it's ok if I sit on their legs tho coz I don't want to hurt them.

It is a bit more difficult but I always make the effort and approach guys in wheelchairs who come to the club, it would be awful if no one approached them.

I haven't danced for a blind customr before but I don't see how it would be any different. My lap dances are very sensual and involve stroking the face etc so I think they would enjoy it even tho they can't see the nudity. I think for many men getting a lap dance is not even about the nudity - its about a women's touch. You can get nudity on the internet for free.

^^ I agree. I haven't been doing it very long, but I have had loads of compliments on how nice my hair and skin smell. They also love my hair brushing over their face and breathe on their neck etc.

You just always have to work with what you've got to work with in this business.

I once sold a lapdance to a deaf guy who didnt want a lapdance in the first place. I just used a lot of hand gestured, head nodding, eye gestures, and most importantly a smile.

Hi Girls, thank you for your help. I'm wanting to make my presentation and written material has useful has possible. I wrote one article for Spread Magazine about disabled customers for the next issue.

There's almost no positive (how to) material on google or yahoo concerning this topic, that's sad! I have CP and have always appreciated the kindness of dancers at clubs.

If anyone wants to expand on phairestofthemall thoughts, that be great.

I have danced for many wheelchair bound customers. My experience as a nurse really helps me because I'm comfortable with them, and put them at ease.

They key really is to treat them as normally as possible. For example, when I dance for a guy in a wheelchair, I ask him if he would like to move to a chair or couch. If he is able, then we move. If he needs to remain in his chair, I ask if he minds if I move the foot pedals out of the way. Being a nurse, I am able to do that quickly and efficiently. I ask if he minds if I sit in his lap. Then I dance. Normally.Even if he is paralyzed and can't feel a thing, it's still visual, and he still gets to imagine what it feels like. I also emphasize on the visual part.

Stutters: I have had several customers with terrible stutter, or other language problem, maybe they had a stroke and have trouble getting words out. The key is be patient! Just sit and listen. Don't try to talk for them or fill in the blanks, and don't act impatient or annoyed. Just wait while they try to get it out.

Never stare, obviously. Don't ask what happened to them. They are in fantasy land during the dance. Don't bring them back to reality where they can't feel anything past the waist.

Most importantly, don't act uncomfortable or shy. Treat them like any other normal individual. If they need assistance with somethign, they will ask for it.

When dancing for someone in a wheelchair make sure they're break is on. I watched a girl dancing for a wheelchair bound custy and he had had a few drinks and forgot to put his break on. Needless to say they both went arse over tit. Not a pleasent experience.

Also, most people who are registered blind do have some vision. I've danced for a blind custy before and he had around 30% vision in one eye and 40% in the other so he could still see a fair amount. Make sure you dance up close, no floor work as they won't be able to see you on th efloor. Probably best to have a mint too. Blind people have a heightened sense of smell so if you've had any garlic that day the chances are they'll be able to smell it, my custy could name the your perfume spot on.

I've danced for a deaf guy and he was really nice. He had a little notebook that he used and we just wrote stuff to each other. No problem. Easier than the foreigners that don't know much English!

Had a blind guy come into the club and he was at the rack but not buying dances. Really not so different other than the obvious that you should play up senses other than sight.

Every disability/handicap is a little bit different so you'd really just have to play it by ear.

For wheelchair bound customers, the practical problem may be access to the venue in the first place.

In the UK, I've seen guys struggling to get their wheelchair bound friend into the venue in the first place. High steps, tight corners, etc.

Might be worth putting a paragraph in about verifying with the venue ahead of time about the ease of getting a wheelchair in.

That said, in the UK strip pubs at least, the dancers seem to go out of their way to ensure that anyone in a wheelcahir has a decent view of their spot.

We always try to make disabled customer's feel as trouble free as possible. I think the biggest obstical is the fact that they feel everything they do or try to do is going to be a big issue. I have someone remove the chair from the area they are wanting to sit at. I have a wheelchair accessable lapdance area. I have several wheelchair bound customer's that come to the club alone after the first few visit's because they know we function well for them. I also have a few girl's that are fairly comfortable with wheelchair bound lapdances so they zero in on wheelchairs for potential LD's.

I danced for an older man who had been in a car accident and had some brain damage once. He was really sweet and I could tell that he really enjoyed the time, touch, and attention from a young dancer, he was so happy that now I'm thinking, awwwww....

Oh, don't even get me started on wheelchair access. My club has two very, very low stairs - what are they there for? Who the hell knows. It would cost like $80 to have them replaced or covered with a short and shallow ramp.

I've danced for many wheelchair bound customers. Usually I do a table dance, though many clubs around here are quite consciously accessible (hooray for government town sticklerism!). I'm pretty comfortable with just about anyone who doesn't smell funny or wear a nazi tattoo. Talk to everyone like you'd want to be spoken to, is my rule of thumb. Dance for everyone the same, but the only thing is to be aware of not falling over the chair. I'm kind of clutzy like that, and sometimes not sure if I should lean on their arm or whatever. I just read the guy's expression and get as close as I can without tripping. So basically the same as any table dance. It's way easier to dance for disabled customers than it is for people who speak zero english or french. That is nearly impossible at times.

I've also danced for a little person a few times, and he was pretty suave and cool. I felt a bit weird in my giant shoes when we walked down the stairs with the mirror in front of us...I also wasn't sure about sitting on him, but in the end it was no different from dancing for a very thin guy.

I was at the Spearmint Rhino in London when the lady I was with excused her self to go across the room.

Bob (or whoever) was there. He was a semi-regular with some sort of gruesome muscle-wasting disease. All the girls always made a point to stop and say hello to him.

Very classy and I was not upset at all. Good for them.

My advice is that they are just a normal person who happens to have some troubles physically. To be totally honest I LOVE dancing for people with disabilities because they are generally nicer and more appreciative of me.

A while back I did a double dance for a guy in a wheelchair with my girlfriend. MAKE SURE THAT THE WHEELS ARE LOCKED so that you don't wheel the guy away, and then just give the same dance you normally would. We crawled all over him like always (Lol) then he took us to VIP. We had so much fun! He was able to get out of the wheelchair using his arms and into the VIP booth. again, we just danced for him as normal.

The only "fuck up" that happened during the hour dance was I realized I was standing on his foot with my heels, but I just said sorry and we all laughed. He was really cool.

I think a lot of girls avoid customers in wheel chairs, etc because they are afraid of hurting them, etc. It's always been my experience that you can give the same dance as you give anybody else.

I also love dancing for people with disabilities.

There was a woman who was paraplegic. Her husband approached me and asked if I would dance for his wife and I was touched that he chose me. IT was actually a really fun night because they were there for the wife's mom's birthday and I ended up dancing for the Mom too! And the friends of the family and the husband as well as the wife. Not only that but they gave me $25 for ever dance. And by the end, I swear half the room was watching and cheering me on!

I danced for a man with cerebral palsy once as well. It was definitely awkward at first. The wheelchair wasn't locked at first, so he started to roll away at the beginning and then it was really hard to get close to him (he was so small in his chair), but eventually, I sat with my back to him and my head on his shoulder and put his arms around me. After the dances, he thanked me and said that he never gets touched by anyone and that he just really likes the closeness. Broke my heart and made my night.

I now this is a resurrection, but I had the most AWESOME disabled guy EVER right before Xmas. He was born a quadruple amputee and was in a wheelchair. I said hi and he took me to VIP.

Now here is the wacky, amazing part. He jumped out of the wheelchair, and faster than my limbed person could, scaled the 6 stairs up to the VIP unaided, and jumped on the couch. His assistant (was his best friend) carried the wheelchair up and we did the VIP dances in the usual spot.

He was such a badass. He's been on Oprah and is a wrestler. Good looking guy too. It was also kinda neat I didnt have to worry about stepping on his feet in my shoes. :-) He even opened up MY BOTTLED WATER because I, the person with fingers, couldnt do it!
