I just did the opposite--went from being on hormonal BC to off of it. I went off three months ago (for basically the first time since I was a teenager). The first two cycles I had horrible bawling, yelling PMS, and cramps so bad I couldn't stand up. So I know that going to opposite direction has the opposite effect, at least.

On the upside, my sex drive is like it has never been before. Seriously, I feel like I know what it's like to be a dude. It's awesome. (That's something to consider before going on the Pill--it can totally kill your sex drive.) And for me, last month's PMS and cramps were better. Hopefully my body just needed some time to adjust.

My assumption would be that going on hormonal BC would help you, but I'm no doctor.

Maybe look into Yaz. It's proven to help with acne, and also helps with other side effects due to pms.

YES!!!! i used to have really really bad emotional PMS symptoms--for a week before my period I would cry over little things or nothing at all, feel really down and crabbier than usual, feel "psycho", and not know why until I began bleeding.

I take Yasmin now and delay my period for 3 months each cycle, and don't get any emotional (or physical) PMS symptoms anymore. I love it.

I take Yaz because I was a fucking basketcase the week before my period. I would freak out over the dumbest things and go nuts.

I am 100 times better now that I'm on Yaz.

I am a really bad PMSer, too. The last week before my period is just one big, monstrous up and down emotional rollercoaster. I stopped taking BC pills 7 years ago because I would gain so much weight due to all the hormones, I guess. They also made my boobs swollen and sensitive CONSTANTLY. I'm just uber sensitive to them-- obviously. I know there have most likely been many changes in BC pills since then. For those who are currently taking Yaz, have you had any weight gain issues?

I just posted this in another thread. Ive been on Yasmin for a couple months now and it makes me super mellow. Im just relaxed all the time... no crazy mood swings.

But I think BC works different on everyone so you may need to try a few things until you find the right fit.

My friend used to take Estroven, magneisum/iron/zinc (combo pills from GNC) and evening prim rose for hormone control and midol tension 4 her headaches. She said that the combo of all them work great--- as for birth control, no idea, those pills make me a psycho
