    Tea Tanning?

Was just having a cuppa tea and thought of something. In the 40's during the war nylon hose was really hard to get, b/c nearly all the material was used for parachutes or something IIRC... Anyway, lacking actual stockings, chicks would use tea to stain their legs to make it look like they were wearing em. So, I wonder, if I likewise threw a few teabags into my bath, would it stain me tanner-looking? Anyone ever tried?

you'd need a lot of tea to do it bath style, but on the other hand, the caffeine would probably help tighten skin and decrease cellulite a tiny bit.

I highly doubt that will give you any results. A sunless tan develops on your body due to many chemicals, I don't think tea will do the same. They are good though, if you take chilled tea bags and place them under your eyes.

I got curious and found this:

Sounds like it'd work, and a hellavalot better than using the drugstore tanners..

I considered the tea bath at one point, but the conclusion I came to was:

    1. the act of getting out of the bath and dripping wold ruin the tan
    2. even application evrywhere is NOT what you want with fake tanner (ie knees and elbows go super-dark)
    3. the slight colour is probably not worth the expense of enough tea to actually mae a bathtub full of dye-quality brew, and all the dirty towels you'd have after.

    Lotion might work though

I used to rub cooled tea bags all over when I got a sunburn(the tannins in tea help sooth and heal the burn) and I never got tan by doing it. So I doubt it would work
