Default Navy exam in 2.5 weeks - need to drop 4 kg!

I was on holiday with my husbands family for 2 weeks, and couldnt escape to get hardly any exercise done at all!

Ive lost muscle mass, and only got 3 decent swims in the fortnight. I did get to do my yoga daily, which saved my sanity, but didnt keep my weight loss on track.

Im still 4 kg (of fat!) over my navy target, and I JUST found out my exam is in 2.5 weeks.

Im going to have to go crazy to lose the last few kg so quickly, and since the exam will involve drug testing, I cant take anything illegal to help things along.

I have my prescription appetite suppressant/metabolism booster, plus I can get away with pseudoephadrine, with this icky cold I have right now.

My carbs are nearly 100% from fruit and veg, Ive doubled my protein intake to keep up with muscle building (Ive lost so much on the fortnight *sob* but I SHOULD be able to lift my old weights/reps after 2 weeks of intensive training)

No junk food, loads of water, plus an intensive (what I USED to do) workout schedule.

Can anyone think of anything else to help?

What is a 'navy target', and what is your exam? Losing 4kg of fat in 2.5 weeks will be hard on your body- if it's a physcal exam, maybe you'd be better off focusing on weight training and ignoring the scale?

^You have to be in a certain weight range for your height.

I'd just eat really clean. Cut out all the sugars and carbs that aren't fruit and veg.

    *crosses fingers* Good luck!

I wish I could help you babe. I am in the U.S Navy and our body standards are different. You can be a little overweight if it is muscle mass versus fat. I don't know if the measure you if you are over weight. 8lbs/4kg is kind of hard to loose, You might be able to get down to 2kg by keeping up with your workout routine. Good luck sweetie!!

you can do mastercleanse. I've lost sixteen pounds in twelve days-- realize that some of that is muscle too--- but if you do weight training as well you should be able to trick your body into thinking the muscle is needed more than the fat-- and so it will burn the fat more.

You could try this for maybe five days and see what happens. Most people try to do it for ten days and lose around ten pounds. Depending on your eating afterwards and how slowly you allow yourself to break the fast, you should be able to keep a good portion of it off. What I've heard is that people gain back about five or six pounds (water weight) but keep the rest off.

    something to ponder.

High intensity, short burst speed exercises: Spinning class, suicides, stadium runs, 100-yard dashes. If you have some weight plates, tie a rope around them and pull them as fast as you can, jump rope, spider crawl pulling the weights. High intensity training will get you in the best shape. It's what I did before my police test and I passed with flying colors.

My weight was ok (but in the high end) when I went for the first round of interviews, but Im pretty keen to get in, so I had the goal of losing 8kg(to get down a bmi point). I only lost four, and we spent two weeks sitting around with family.

So Im cutting off some fat, and getting my muscle mass back up.

Thanks for the suggestions on HIIT, everyone, Ive checked it out (and asked my doc) and will be starting tomorrow, if this icky cold of mine is a bit better.

Can you reschedule the exam? That kind of deadline to shed 4kg of fat isn't realistic.

    I cant really reschedule, unfortunately.

Im well within the limits for the ADF, but I had a personal goal of reaching that BMI before the interview, even though I had no idea what date Id get .

Ill push myself for 2 weeks, see how I do, but I wont get ED again over this.

I guess I just really love to meet my goals, but as long as I improve at all, Ill be happy.

    Yay!

In 1.5 weeks Ive dropped over 2kg (Im hella bloated from my period, so not sure of the actual amount)

Im now down to my "court-case" weight of 1 year ago! Nearly at my "stripping" weight (5kg to go) then my final goal is my healthy weight. (10kg down again)

Ive been doing HIIT, but no weights (though Im swimming most days) and with this cold Ive hardly been hungry, so Im getting my vegies and protein, and not craving the fatty PMS foods.

    1 week to go.
